I think that they are up to something sinister . If you look at the way they are milking Africa of its resources , on a scale that puts the rest of the world to shame , you will understand why so many African people hate them. eg Zambian business in Lusaka , African timber contracts on a scale unheard of , black market for products from endangered species and the list goes on and on. You dont hear about the Aid, because 70% of it goes to the government, that's how corrupt africa is, but the US are laying down laws which monitor how aid progresses through the country to make sure it gets to the people.

I guess the difference is who's dying, CDC certainly isn't stingy about stockpiling Tamiflu and administer it to half of the US population if there is a major breakout of severe H1N1 in here; As it will be likely to develop Tamiflu resistant viral strain in the future.
On the other hand, it seems much of work done by the Chinese is to prove the two other drugs (unidentified in the video) used together with Artemisinin could mitigate or slow down development of drug resistant malaria.

OR they could be sharing their knowledge of medicine to Africa (: Seeing as the western scientists isn't coming up with much news. Plus China would also like to strenghten their ties. Relations with China usually involves the involved countries with benefits of Chinese culture, etc. I mean, look at the past? Ancient Rome , Africa, Korea, Japan etc all are bequethed with something from Chinese culture :D

But, you see the Chinese aren't transparent in their drug who knows what in there.. remember chinese dog food, tooth paste, lead paint toys, fake pharmceuticals,etc.
And in fact if the drug does work there is a big gamble of resistance like the documentary suggest at the end

Are you doubting Chinese intelligence? China is a big country and it makes many products, its natural to have a few errors as nothing is perfect and absolute.
Do you know? Doctor David Ho is one of the first scientists to propose that AIDS was caused by a virus, thus subsequently developing combination antiretroviral therapy to combat it?

I have read the book by Iris Chang "The Chinese American" I am aware of chinese contribution to modern science and culture
China produces great minds but
produce products that are still low quality/poisonous ( tooth paste, dog food, children toys, milk etc). Errors are fine, but to have massive recalls in the last 3-4 years is unacceptable.. probably why they executed one top level offical

I have to agree with you on that. China has contribute thousands of inventions that we use daily today. However, ever since the collapse of our last dynasty and the conquer of China by the Manchus, we've really fallen behind. World war 2 and internal civil wars doesn't help either.

I think that they are up to something sinister . If you look at the way they are milking Africa of its resources , on a scale that puts the rest of the world to shame , you will understand why so many African people hate them. eg Zambian business in Lusaka , African timber contracts on a scale unheard of , black market for products from endangered species and the list goes on and on. China has moved in on African Banks , minerals , timber etc and exploited the locals terribly.

Its called trading. China needs resources from Africa because it needs to build new buildings, etc. Africa needs food from China because it has limited agricultural lands. You see? One needs food, one needs resources. Thus, two country have made such strong ties. The above video you see is just an extra deed China has done for Africa to ensure a good tie and a good healthcare among its people.

China bought 3-4 million slaves from Africa during the slave trade and allowed castrated men only . In order to achieve that 16 million died in the process of war to capture , the hyena road to the coast and the fattening and castrating camps where they died in their thousands from infection caused by castration. Only men were traded , thus they could not interbreed with the Chinese woman as is evident today , there are no halfcastes .

Only men were traded so they don't interbred with Chinese women? If you take a look at the genes of Chinese people today, you'll see we're very diverse with Mongolian, Manchurian etc blood in us. I don't remember any rule in Chinese history of Chinese people denying two race to intermarry? (although I could be wrong).

Chinese also need to feel good. people. And, Aids to Africa is a tradition. All the public hospitals in China have the program to send doctors to Africa ...normally all hospitals in one province do the rotation to send medical team to Africa. This practice has been keep for 50 years. I guess you people never know this. I never heard any western media report this.

Actually, the European visit Africa first, since Europe is closer to Africa. However, China has a more peaceful and respectful history than European. European were racist and arrogant. European pretty much caused much of the ills of Africa today.
