We don't need more jobs-America needs less jobs! It's competition for these jobs that makes the work force better skilled thus allowing employers to grow and prosper. America was built on employment competition-this is what makes us the greatest country ever. I will work with Cantor, Boehner, and Paul Ryan to make sure Obama does not pass a jobs handout (welfare) program in any way, shape or form. God bless the GOP!
Thank you for your candor and your honest vote! The debt problems which have been building up in this administration and the last are killing us. True growth and true spending cuts are what we need, not a bailout. Simplify taxing, simplify spending, and keep both to a minimum!
Senator Rubio: you do not offer solutions, all you offer is criticism of your President. Why are you not supporting the American Jobs Act when it will put hundreds of thousands Americans back to work? Why are you carrying a flag for the millionaires? Why aren't you carrying a flag for the majority of the hard working Floridians that you are supposed to represent? Please stop being a Republican robot. You don't think independently, and it is very obvious. I am very disappointed in you.
@brokerhooper I fail to see how Obama's $477,000,000,000.00 Jobs bill will put hundreds of thousands of Americans back to work. In fact, if this Jobs bill were passed, and it created even more jobs than you state it would... lets say a million jobs. Each job would have cost $477,000. ($350,000 is the lowest estimate) What kind of sense does that make? It is you that is not the independent thinker my friend, not to mention you also don't seem to know basic math or have any common sense.
@1uphydro You neglect to take into account the things that will get done by those jobs. How much are bridges, roads and schools worth? And what about the businesses help by the infrastructure improvements? How much is that worth?
@Plosion1 Those numbers (if you could even calculate them) would not bring the cost of each job created anywhere near an acceptable number because there is no acceptable number. The government spending $477 billion to create jobs is like placing $477 on black at the roulette table in Vegas. How about doing something that costs he tax payer almost nothing, reduce the regulations placed on business's allowing them to compete, thus creating permanent jobs, not temporary infrastructure jobs.
@1uphydro Because...we need the infrastructure improvements. Deregulation got us into a major financial crisis. It will not, and has not created jobs. And it just makes sense to take advantage of lower interest rates and labor costs to catch up with the needed improvements to our infrastructure that will help industry.
@Plosion1 De-regulation of the housing market (although it was essentially more regulation ex: Frank/Dodd to allow high risk mortgages to be awarded to people who couldn't afford a mortgage) is totally different from reducing regulations on small business's such as construction companies. You're talking apples and oranges and generalizing. Fact is, the last trillions of dollars spent got us nowhere and some of the money is missing. Do you really think spending another 1/2 trill will do anything?
Senator: I strongly disagree with your position on this issue. Tax cuts to large, wealthy companies and individuals has proven itself to be an ineffective method of boosting an economy.
As an elected leader in this country, shouldn't you at least be making some effort to try something new, instead of blaming your dislike on someone else?
@Kennylpj I'm sorry but it seems you know nothing about economics. Individuals and companies ARE the economy. They hire people and create wealth. The state can only confiscate wealth in the form of taxes, which should be used to pay for needed government functions.
@trottheblackdog Your first sentence, apart from being completely unnecessary to make your point, is also incorrect. I know more than enough about economics and the market for employment. However, the market has shown itself time and again to be an employers market, resulting in large companies paying as few people as possible as little as possible, and funneling the rest of the money straight to the top.
Early attempts to shut down this backflow haven't worked, so we need something new.
@Kennylpj That's not always true. In my area for instance, there is a lack of available personnel in the IT sector. So the unemployment rate is actually a negative. Frankly, companies always pay as little as possible, and workers try to negotiate for as much as possible. If it weren't for stifling government regulations and ridiculous corporate tax rates, everyone would be making more money - Especially employees.
The first stimulus worked you idiot. It would have worked better if it were BIGGER. Who are you representing? Not the middle class. Why didn't you vote for a debate on jobs??? I can't wait to vote you out.
True, but you can't blame it on the President: The U.S. CONGRESS passes, law, not the prez... LOL -- Geeze, you know Separation of Powers 101, Right, Marco?
Now, that said: Even if the Prez can't be blamed for the action (or lack thereof), nonetheless, if he supports burdensome regulations, and a Red-Tape-confusing tax code (from his bully pulpit of presidency), now THAT you can blame on him --alright now!
Marco Rubio's family is involved in drug dealing. His sister and her husband sold cocaine and marijuana here in Miami for a crime ring that murdered and dismembered people. The Rubio family still co-owns property with the cocaine and marijuana dealer. The Rubios are a gangster family. Real slime balls. Seriously, Marco Rubio needs to be thrown out of office. He's a disgrace. All this information was reported on local news here in Miami. The rest of the country needs to hear about it.
@1uphydro I looked it up. Since he didn't post any details, here: The senator's sister wasn't charged with anything, but his brother-in-law was. He dealt in rare animals and drugs. The brother-in-law got out of jail in 2000. He was charged when the senator was in high school, and living in a different home. This is America, where people are innocent until proven guilty and there is nothing linking him to any wrongdoing. Hopefully the brother-in-law ceased dealing; there was no further evidence.
@dbirchle :) I know and I knew that Handelson71 could not put forth any evidence that this had anything to to with Senator Rubio other than the legal relation to his brother in law, nothing more.
Good luck Mr. Rubio. The President talks a good talk, but walks entirely differently. One need only lift the skirt on any of his policies to see what they really are about. Unfortunately, the mainstream media refuses, or have just been brainwashed not to even consider, scrutinizing the President's proposals. It's akin to the press agreeing entirely, to no photograph FDR in his leg braces. It's a White House effort to control the press, and win elections. We have work to do on the PR front!
Good luck Mr. Rubio but I don't think anyone can work with this President or these democrats in the Senate that doesnt go along with their "my way or the highway" attitude
