His vocals are wonderful, the melodies are exquisite, and the musicianship and arrangements are great!
Of the music I listen to and enjoy most - Indian (India), Jazz, Blues, Classical, Latin, African, Afro-Caribbean, Central American, Hawaiian, etc., Ke'a'li'i Reichel is among my all time favorite musicians and vocalists.
this song was my great grandmas favorite song and my kumu insisted that i do it for one of my competitions so i did and it is sooo beautiful..... gah i cant get enough of it!!!!! :D
I listen to Keali'i everyday on UTube. Thanks to all of you that take the time to post his music. Being away from home makes this even more special to find. I have always loved this song. It remains me of my Mom. She loved this song. Thanks again.
I admire Keali'i a lot. All started when I was shopping at Long's Drugstore , Honolulu as they played his songs. Soon after Long's I rushed to Tower Records and managed to possess his original CD. Till now, I still have his CD here backhome in Sabah, Borneo. Wish could meet him in person, but t'was too late as I'm no more in Hawai'i. Will be back there and hope to meet him. Miss his work of art! and still adore him a lot!
My favorite Hawaiian song....could listen to Keali'i for hours...his arrangement is far surperior to others in my eyes. I never heard Emma Veary sing this so she might give him a run for his money..Emma has been my favorite singer since 1969 when I first heard her in Honolulu. Hope I can come across her recording of this later.
It is so nice to hear Ke'a'li'i Reichel!
We own most of his albums.

Mahalo for posting this. Sweet. The English subtitles help to understand the lyrics better.
