$1,000-$1,500!?! Yeah right! Where are you getting your Servals from, mills? A decent quality serval will run you $2,500-$3,000. You will only find Servals less than this if they are illegally obtained, or the breeder is not USDA licensed and just trying to earn cash. Watch out for ANYONE who sells a Serval under $2,500!
and from F1 toeveryday even in the rain, they like keeping him active, you can't feed them only with cats food, they need live bird, fish, frog, rabbit ect
in fact it's not a toy

im in PA and im am planning on buying a cat. is this guy patrick serious? if not how cheap can i find any generation serval or an F1?
I have heard $5-10k for an F1, about half for an F2 and it scales down less from there (exponentially). Why they would "need" live food is beyond me, sounds made up
at this price buy them all you will be billionair next years .
at 5 to 10 K for a f1 it a SAVANNA , a savanna is a mix of a serval and an other cat similar like bangal, sphinxs , caracal , or african golden cat ....
an f1 serval you can't domesticate them , they are wild cats , if you can keep a male a female then get kitten it will take several generation to get a f1 that you can play with like a normal cat .....
@patrick334 There's no such thing as an "f1 serval". F1 refers to the fact that a hybrid is first filial generation from an actual serval or the Asian leopard cat etc. (i.e. one of its parents was a full wildcat.) A serval is just a serval and not a hybrid. And a savannah is a serval/domestic cat mix. Always. But servals are quite easily domesticated....at least if it's their first home.
a serval F3 male sterilized you will pay between 20 000 and 28 000 $ depending of the color ect.
and from F1 to F4 you can't keep them inside a house juste for the fun to own a serval, you will need to take a walk with him everyday even in the rain, they like water, a large place in your house for keeping him active, you can't feed them only with cats food, they need live bird, fish, frog, rabbit ect
They were raised with my Great Dane and got along nicely with him as young cats, however as mature breeding cats, they no longer enjoy dogs as friends.
They are not pets in the sense that domestic cats are.

I'm so curious on how much a 100% African Serval sells for? I live in NJ so I guess I would have to check it it's legal to own one.
panhandle222 4 years ago
it's a possibility, but they go for about 3,000+ and usually you have to put down a deposit because they sell quick
