It is such a pure clear sound it is as fluid as a stream and each of his notes are like pearls you want to cherish for always SIGH!! Why can't i play this piece like that?

I'm learning this on my violin, I'm getting the hang of it (or I so thought I was) but when I heard this...my goodness...the crispness of the sound, the smoothness...it's just awe-inspiring.
I had this on vinyl years ago. On relistening, it sounds overly echo chamber-ish (like many of the current Naxos recordings). But you can't deny the virtuosity and masterful phrasing.
Grumiaux was fantastic but I actually think the song is better when played more slowly, especially in the second part it is easy to lose track of the music in he song, anyway that's what me thinks.

My goodness this is truly epic..
