I would be truly wonderful! I think Cruise doing another Lestat role would be without a doubt amazing. I'd love to see the whole cast back really & ideally it would be great to forget that the QOTD film ever happened, and to have the cast do at least the first 4 books in the VC would be clearly the best series of films in ages!

Brad Pitt was so perfect as Louis, but i don't think Tom Cruise was god looking enough for Lestat, though he was certainly arrogant enough.

Acutally, in the book, Louis didn't lose a wife and child, but his brother... Oh, well. I still love the movie.

I like the book way better personally, I think losing a wife and child has a lot of instant dramatic effect and adds to the Claudia storyline without a lot of extra explaining, but I really think the story of Lou's brother and of the guilt Lou feels over it, adds a lot of substance and depth to his character in the books.

Yeah, I really feel for Claudia too! I mean that's one thing I really like about the movie that it sorta makes you love & hate Claudia at the same time. Which is exactly how I feel about her in the books, she's such a tragic character with how they take her, and how she has to die, but at the same time, she's got a mean streak.

That said though, my fave of the characters is Louis, he's soo tragic and beautiful, and devoted to Lestat! I just adore him!

Oh, you must definitely see this movie. It doesn't follow the book 100% but I feel like most of the characters are portrayed exactly as I imagined them to be. It really is a gorgeously made film.

I would have LOVED to have seen Lestat and Louis get more intimate in the movie! I think that a lot of the beauty of the VC books comes from the fact that Lestat & Louis are forever lovers and the movie did bypass that idea.

But that just has a lot to do with society, and what was most acceptable in big screen films at the time. Even so, I think that some film scenes between Lestat & Louis have a very sensual feel, and that without being too obvious, the movie does play into their intimacy.
