  • Thanks! Lilke me! Like me!

  • You seem like a nice guy so ill like and sub :D

  • thumbs up if VAT19 brought you here! :D

  • lol the mirrors line up and attack the other sphinx

  • and if u knew that why did u watch this video

  • The sphinx is never captured. It is the permanent laser source throughout the game.

  • @AncientChess you probably would want khet 2.0 search it

  • Is it possible to capture the other players sphinx

  • @felucho1000 no

  • Thanks for the link to the 26 pound gummi bear. Now, let's get back to important matters like Laser beam chess variants .... :)

  • Vat19 :D

  • i want this to play with my dad :P

  • That last message was intended to answer that question: No, you can't see the laser beams in the air (unless you're in a very smoky environment). Normally, what you see will be very much like what's shown in the video -- except for one thing: In the video, the light appears 'white' but in reality, the light looks like a bright red.

  • can u see the laser beam in the air ? please reply

  • @AWSOMEDUDE1369 No but you can see every play it hits.

  • Actually seeing the laser beams as they streak through the air is a nice effect -- but of course in normal circumstances, you only see the light where it hits an object ... unless you are playing in a very smoky room ... which is not recommended, for health reasons :)

  • ya umm i saw lazer beams in the commercial

  • I wanna see the refractor pieces. :I

  • Khet the original didn't have a Sphinx it only had a small laser opening on the side where you press a red button. Khet 2.0 has a Sphinx as the laser.

  • @AncientChess I would be very interested in seeing the original version! :)

  • Been reading Dave Gorman's book Dave Gorman vs the world where he goes round the uk playing different games with strangers and he seemed to particularly enjoy khet so have been really intrigued by it! Will defo have to get a set looks wonderful!

  • I originally saw this on vat19, but I watched this video and you explained the game very well! Im thinking about buying it to give as a gift for some friends of mine

  • wait, is that u, rick?

  • Thanks Teddy, My face actually looks kind of funny without it. My kids barely recognize me.

  • i like your beard =3

  • it seems to be quite intertaining

  • i orderd it too! can't wait!!!!

  • I haven't seen the older version of Khet, but would be interested if any viewers know what's new about this one. Thanks,

    Rick

  • @AncientChess i guess the only things different are that the figures look a bit different, that you don't have that many figures to block the laser, that you can't stack some figures like you could on the first game so that you had to hit it two times in order to completely remove it from the playfield and that the lasers can be moved in two different directions. in the original khat game the lasers are mounted in the playfield.

so khat 2.0 lookes better but khat 1.0 is more fun to play i guess.

  • @AncientChess There are a few subtle differences.

1)The lazer: On the original, the laser was built into the board, and only shot in one direction, it could not rotate like in the video.

2)The anubis: in the original there were 4 blockers on each side instead (might have had a different name). You could stack them so you could double the protection. At the same time, none of the sides were safe, if they were hit, they were off the board.

Those are the only major differences that I can tell of

  • @AncientChess For one thing, it has walls so you can see the laser on the walls. and the laser was built into the wall, so it couldn't turn

  • @AncientChess Also, there were two more of the things by the pharoahs, and they usually stacked two on each side

  • I've played the first khet, am considering buying this one even though there isn't to much difference.

  • I just ordered mine! Can't wait to play
