NO!! The doctors will advise against ice cream. It causes a mucus build up in your throat and the last thing you want to do is try to "clear" your throat when you have a fresh incision! Soup and jello is best. Runny eggs is also easy.

i got mine out and i had to eat corn chips so the surgery line or whatever gets blended into my gums.. idk, but i think thats what my mom told me to do and besides that, i got to eat alot of ice cream and i could barely talk so.. yea..i was out for nine weeks (or days) of school..

I don't think so. I guess if you're prone to sore throats or something like that, it would be a good idea to have them removed since it might pose a threat later on in life. But no, I still have my tonsils...proud to say that I haven't gone under the knife for anything in my life and I plan to keep it that way.

...unless something potentially life threatening comes up of course.

vietpandanguyen9009 , just like your kidneys and liver.. your tonsils are like a filter, they clean all the bacteria thats in your mouth from birth to whenever they start to become infected.. and when they start to become infected ( lots of sore throats, strep, mono) its time for them to take them out..

nothing really happens, you stop getting sore throats all the time.

it will hurt for a week right after the surgery but thats about it.

you still have your kidney,liver etc as you filter system.

and what happens to some people is that after you get the tonsils removed, your voice becomes a little higher pitch ( in a cute way though)
