  • Where is Forrest Gump ???

  • Why was he singing Hey Jude at the beginning? XD I love you John!

  • my dog is named after hey jude :)

  • @killersliveon my dog is called 'hey' as well

  • Wonder if Yoko felt guilty for sleeping with John while he was still married and living with his wife? Maybe her daughter's father didn't see her a good influence?

  • Pretty smart guy, John was. His better answer, without knowing it," so they don't feel what's going on around them"Interesting.......Greg, of "Ameritalian".

  • thanks for uploading this John and Yoko look so happy Johns life was cut too short RIP x

  • Year for this? I assume from some of the banter that it was around 1971 because I remember what John's hair looked like then. Please always include the dates if possible for context's sake! Thanks for posting these...

  • aww that was so sweet, the way he made an appeal at the end for yokos daughter and called her 'OUR daughter' awww bless him, so lovely! :*(

  • A T R S T I

  • I don't blame Yoko's ex for not wanting their daughter around this woman. I am sure the child was raised a lot better

  • Yoko's Breast looked really droopy for such a young woman at the time.

  • @NFitalianGuy

I'm not sure why they were like that, she was barely 40 at the time.

  • @Czirro Yoko was 40? John was only 31 then.

  • @NFitalianGuy Being a mother change your body a lot

  • The world wasn't ready for John! No, America wasn't ready for John, America has a problem with the world

  • @gabbyOwabby is it possible john was jesus?

  • it's sweet how he says "we aren't allowed to see OUR daughter" like he's kyoko's dad too. (:

  • hey, do you guys like Catcher in the Rye?

  • @muddykipz yeah, i greatly enjoy that book. not because of mark david chapman, everybody knows that guy was just a nut. and it's obvious that you're a troll, because of your username. kindly leave.

  • @muddykipz fuck you

  • God Damn Mark David Chapman!! To Hell!! And it's funny because If Lennon is looking down from above right now, he has probably already forgiven him. But Damn Chapman for taking John away from this world!

  • Awwwwww poor yoko not being able to see her own daughter that's really sad...

Did you know that John started smoking when he was my age(13) cuz his parents were never around:,(

  • BINGO with john comment on drugs!!!, and almost 40 years later, people still doesn't get it!!!

  • 1:24 - 'Happiness is a Warm Gun' was based on a magazine cover?

Who'd have thought it? John Lennon inspired by the NRA.

  • this was in forrest gump and a movie line from forrest gump is "thats all i have to say about that"

did anyone notice at 3:51 john says

"thats all i have to say about that"

    :D

  • goog lord yoko at 2:50. havent you ever read 1984. UTOPIAS ARE ALWAYS A FAIL.

  • It depends on who's creating the utopia.

  • Yoko Ono was hot here

  • I saw on amazon that it said the dvd run time was only 30 min. Is this true? I thought there were 3 separate interviews, surely all three can't add up to a mere 30 min.

  • THAT'S Yoko? ...Well no offense to either of them but at least he isnt scoring above his own looks.

    inb4 Beatle Nazi rage

  • He sing "Hey jude in first sec =))

  • @rareu4532 i thought tht was strawberry fields

  • Gosh, he's so smart. I agree with almost everything he says. Love you, John. :)

  • @nat00ben06 Yoko was the straw that broke the camels back, as in the bands relationship was starting to fade and john and Paul would go off and write seperate songs without saying nowt to the others. Yoko came in at a time were john and Paul were sick of each other.

  • damn i hate yoko!

  • Oh Yoko... having her daughter taken away from her..

  • 1:55 GREAT response from Lennon. Applies even more so today.

  • @kristofferdub "...is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized that we cannot live in it without guarding ourselves against it...I think if people were aloud to be a bit more free and express themselves, they wouldn't have to inhibit themselves by taking drugs to not be heard..."

    I couldn't agree more

  • Yoko doesn't owe Julian anything. John did. He was the one who abandoned his son. Yoko is not Julian's mother. It was John's responsibility not hers. She doesn't have to feel affection for Julian, he's not her son. Whatever happened was John's fault and his fault alone.

  • @aquagrl63 You and people like you do not know anything about Lennon(neither do I). Were you a personal friend?, did you befriend him?, have you spent anytime with him? Yeah, sure you knew exactly what was going on inside of his brain. The only thing we know about Lennon is that he was a great singer/songwriter, and a helluva guitarist. His personal life is none of our business.

  • john has a cool voice

  • John is so beautiful.. :)

  • @Elz630 yeah, he really is.):D

  • haha wow.

    you act like you know!

  • She didn'y break up the beatles, they had problems for a long time and so a break up was inevitable and anyway, she didn't necessarily do anything wrong, it's just that John listened to her and Paul got annoyed with that

  • @Jazzyc222 the death of Brian was the death of the band. It was the business of rock that split the Beatles, not the chicks.

  • such a beautiful couple. they both look very beautiful.

  • Fidgity much John :)

  • Look, if Yoko is going to be so public with John, then she opens herself up to ridicule. Without being married to John, nobody would know her. Personally, I have no idea what he saw in the woman.

  • You don't have to see what he sees, he loved her and you can't change that

  • Well, you missed my point. But I'm sure he loved Yoko, because he went on to have an affair with May Pang and was talking about divorcing Yoko and marrying May. Yeah, true love.

Don't be fooled by the carefully crafted media image of marital bliss. John was a very confused man, but a great artist. Yoko is a lousy artist and not very attractive. Being married to John Lennon ain't going to change that. And we don't have to be forced to accept her, just because John supposedly "loved" her.

  • wow, i thought he totally loved her til his death..... that man was a horn dog, couldn't stick to one woman it seems.

  • @Jazzyc222 She loved him! And you know that can't be bad. She loved him, and you know he should be glad!

  • Obviously something you don't...

  • She didn't know anything about The Beatles but she was friendly with Ringo or something like that and she's a actress from Hawaii and she met John by chance or they would have never crossed ways but what did John see in her which made him divorce Cynthea, his college sweetheart.

  • @tbone76a But why does she deserve ridicule? I understand criticism but why ridicule? And why do people always criticize her appearance?

  • @aquagrl63 I don't understand it either....

  • Love them both. Great artists.

  • she was an actress.

and a singer too. but i think she was only locally famous in japan or wherever

  • @rosado3p she was an artist from japan. She had no idea who John was when they first met

  • Freedom is so precious it should be rationed.

  • unique outfit she's wearing

  • I think Mary-Kate olsen is very inspired by her x)

  • ADHD at its best! :D

  • i hav ADHD

  • as do I :)

  • I love how every is bashing on Yoko. Geeze John lennon was happy with her, i mean come on they were married for 11 years before john died. There is no need to call her a 'stupid fuck" or 'stupid cunt"." Grow the fuck up!

  • No offense....But even Julian Lennon referred to Yoko as a "Manipulator". Julian actually had to buy back postcards exchanged between him and his father from Yoko! Thats pretty dirty if you ask me. You can defend Yoko all you want....But just because John liked her ,that doesn't make her a class act.

  • "Manipulator" or not, In the end, it really did matter What John felt. And i am pretty sure he would not want his true fans bashing on her.

  • John lennon was so funny yet soo smart and good pointed you know??

  • im sure john lennon took drugs in the 60s..

  • At the beginning of the clip where it says 'Dick Cavett Show' is that little symbol a peyote button? Anyone know if he was into psychedelics?

  • 1:06-1:08 eleanor rigby stands for what? lol

  • er ...uh ... you got me?

  • Ironic he's talking about warm guns.

  • Yoko'S Ex Is A Real Jackass!

  • anytime Yoko talks i cringe. i dont dislike her, it just is what it is.

  • Wow John was such a voice for the people and generation of his day, Cavett cannot even comprehend what was really going on.

  • was this used in the movie forrest gump?? since he was wearing that shirt on the movie...

  • I think it is yeah..I seem to remember him leaning over and making a peace sign, which I havnt seen yet

  • it was. but forest was pasted over yoko

  • Lucy in the sky with diamonds!

  • 1:56 - 3:14 good point there Mr. Lennon

  • yeahp... he has a good point

  • i agree my friends!!

  • Good Story

  • jeje, se ve el micro de arriba, varias veces y como lo oculta el camara cerrando el plano. XDD

  • Well I am skeptical about the "accidental" connection of the songs to drugs.

I could maybe take his explanation of Lucy in the Sky, but come on - "Happiness is a Warm Gun" not about shooting up? I don't think so.

"When I hold you in my arm, I know that no harm can come to me, because happiness is a warm gun, Bang Bang Shoot Shoot"

  • "I need a fix, cause I comin down, down to the pits that I left . . . I need a fix cause I'm coming down"

  • you should really get your lyrics right before you leave a comment saying what the song is about

  • There's a thing called a rifle? You have to use both hands and your arms to aim.. Secondly, drugs do go hand in hand with songs yes, more for the phsychedelic era stuff, but John's songs that are explicitly about drugs, you KNOW are drug songs, and he hasn't denied them. So why would he put on a sheraid about "Lucy.." and "Happiness is a Warm Gun"? The sounds behind the tunes are drug influenced, but they aren't PRECISELY ABOUT drugs..

  • If the song were precisely about drugs, that would have simply been the kiss of death commercially at the time. I mean they refused to play "8 miles high" because of a rumor that is was about drugs.

  • The same would have happened to the Beatles' songs unless they had been creatively/poetically couched in ambiguous imagery and storytelling.

(I was talking about the Beatles songs, not John specifically) His charade shielded the saleability of the music and made it possible to be distributed at the time.

(Day Tripper, Nowhere Man, Rain, Tomorrow Never Knows, nor Help - not drug songs in the lyrics at all)

  • Again not explicitly, but undoubtly drugs songs. Doctor Robert, She Said.. drug songs. Tommorrow Never Knows IS about a trip on drugs, and Day TRIPPER, although the words don't say it, has the conotation, which is why Lennon put it in there, cause he liked the title. BUT LSD is not, and HWG is not a drug song. Neither was Mr. Kite. They were ideas ripped from actual existing publications and illustrations..

  • You want DRUG related songs by Lennon, well.. "Cold Turkey" for a start. Then you've got "There's A Place" which im sure is more about his imagination, but the boys had been on prellies before they wrote it. "Help", influenced by the state of mind of being on pot. "Nowhere Man" another depression. "Rain", "Tomorrow Never Knows" now there are your two big Lennon drug tunes. "Day TRIPPER"? Drugs deffinately had an impact on the songs round HELP/ Rubber Soul, but not inadveratbly about advocating.

  • *inadvertently about advocating the use of drugs.. Are we a society of Lemmings? Plus the Beatles were probably the better influence about using drugs. They CREATED stuff on drugs, so they were actually posititve and productive with the influence of drugs. But its up to you whether or not you do them, and if you'd be affected the same way. Its because of the Beatles that there are disclaimers on everything in music now..

  • People take the drugs in songs thing way too far! It's in songs, but that's the artist's expression about himself or someone he observes!

That's it, that's where it ends. If someone then wants to go out and emulate that song's message to "feel famous" or whatever then...?

Expression of the message is foremost, you can't be trying to second guess how people will interpret a song or then you'll be too paranoid to write anything!

Lemming comment of mrchitown29 is it.

  • Well regardless of drugs the artist's expression is ALL that matters ever in their pieces. i guess there some real impressionable people who do drugs to "feel famous", but a great majority of them do it out of curiousity at first, REGARDLESS of musicians or whoever. Then they get hooked because they like the guard it gives them as Mr. Lennon so wonderfully explained here. Funny how the people who bar you from doing it, are also the one's that cause you to want to do the drugs in the first place.

  • ...I know, Lennon really nailed the 'why people get hooked thing' - brilliant stuff! It's like for all of Lennon's human shortcomings regarding whatever in his personal life, he tended to say some stuff that was very profound based on hard living I guess.

Peace my friend, and may Mr Lennon's spirit live forever!

  • Who cares? It's great music.

I only know a few songs they wrote that were really confirmed to be about drugs.

I don't know about all of them.

    But who cares?

I mean, if you get people to agree with you, and they say, 'yeah, it's about drugs, sure'

What? Are you going to BAN Beatles music? Slap a 'explicit' label on it?

Say 'kids shouldn't listen to this?'

    What's the point?

It's interesting to wonder but don't get into life or death arguements. It's not worth your time and effort.

  • Well its at a person's own disgression to wonder about everything you just said they shouldn't. The government slaps labels on things to warn parent's is all. Most rebells bitch about what parents and government restrict kids from doing. You can't tell people what and what not to discuss man, thats facist. People will hear the "drug" music no matter what, which is why the government and the FCC's always made a big deal about broadcasting it. They didn't want to feel apart of spreading that messg

  • Yeah, I see your point.

Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to tell you not to discuss it, just that people will see things as they will, regardless of the FCC.

In my opinion, putting an explicit label on a song or album makes people find MORE hidden meanings, which may not have been the artist's intent.

In the end, people will have whatever reaction they want to music.

It's just my opinion that once in a while we should enjoy music as it is instead of finding every hidden meaning it may have.

  • i understand you and this all goes in with what John was saying here in the first place, the so called "naughty" things are going to be said/ done, so instead of getting paranoid (the government) and pigeonholing shit, why not confront the things that are supposedly an issue?

  • And I understand a company's concern for what they are publishing and spreading, since a lot of things can offend a lot of different people.

  • Yoko is very different than I thought she would be. I love how playfull John is. Yoko is so quiet and when she does speak up she is usually interupted.

  • I love the forst excerpt how she comes out in that outfit w no bra LOL.... this couple always gives me hope. I hope to find my John Lennon soon <3

  • No bra..exactly!I never wear one either!here I am your own John lennon..well Im james actually but y'know...

  • He´s views about substance abuse are spot on, then and now. The real question is still mostly missing in public debate, or more likely avoided being too "big" or "depressing" or "complex" one to do anything about: WHY do some people want to destroy or at least alienate themselves from society by mushing their brains with drugs/alcohol and find this the ONLY way to cry for help, i.e. reach out to society after all?

  • I agree, but the answer is obvious - society can be very harsh especially for the more delicate types out there which moves us on to the next question - what can be done about that? You can toughen up the sensitives (good luck), you can make society less harsh (complex), or you can create a protective arena within harsher society for the sensitives which they have already attempted by self-medicating.

  • There are also the hedonists who greater society only considers a problem if they become impoverished and so a burden.

  • .nedrub a os dna dehsirevopmi emoceb yeht fi melborp a sredisnoc ylno yteicos retaerg ohw stsinodeh eht osla era erehT

  • ADHD: probably did have it :P

  • I think John said the turth

  • Who cares if it is about LSD or its not about it it's a beautifulk song nonetheless....I mean Lennon used heroin...and afterwards he wrote "Cold Turkey." I mean he was human after all...who gives a flying shit anyway I certainly don't--he was a genius and a great man who had some faults along the way don't contradict or critizize, just enjoy the music he left and be happy with it.

  • Yes, I agree with you. But later, he went and recovered from his drug addiction. It may be about LSD. I personally think he's telling the truth, but if you don't who cares. It's music.

  • haha teh beggining is great, johns legs are like spazing aout and hes tapping em like nuts haha

  • ADHD!!!

    Ahaha love John

  • falconxfan101x,

haha i have adhd and i do that abit, and also he seems like the guy who might have adhd lol, a dificult child in general, but overal a fun guy, and is creative and when he has the insperation and determination to do what he loves, heel do it. just like me :) me and my art, him and his music :) lol he has the symptoms of adhd so i wonder if he had it.

  • I have it as well. He does seem like the type of guy who would have ADHD. Maybe bipolar disorder as well?

  • falconxfan101x,

peopl say im a lot like john, im not bipolar, though i question if i am or not, and i dont think that he is either, just that hes a very stuborn and strong willed guy, same for me, that if sombody dose or sey something to realy irks me or something i realy dont want to do, i lose it, im this nice kid before, mum seys something i dont want to do or disagree to, then im this angry kid who argues about EVERYTHING

  • and is just not pleasent to be around. i think its teh same case for john, caus he cen get pretty..well, uh, hehe yeah, angry lol.

  • Yeah. That's what I'm thinking about him.

  • darn right :)

  • of course i believe him, why would he lied? besides, it´s even more beautiful that it fits that word -LSD.

  • John's got a point here: why do we need drugs, instead of what can we do about the addicts? This question's doesn't have an answer yet...goverments, police, narcos are all playing a game which we don't know anything about it, while the people that consume drugs are being criminalized...

  • Why is ono talking no one is listening to her lol

  • I can't believe that people are watching this video and still believing that Lucy in the sky with diamonds is about LSD.

  • It is about LSD. I accuse you of being a liar.

  • John says straight up in this video. HE is not lying, I can tell

  • um...yeah, I know. What is your [point?

  • You think John Lennon never used LSD?

    Come on!

  • Too coward to admit you're wrong eh?

  • Haha if I was wrong I am not the kind of person to not admit it. Those kind of people are the people who still believe this song is about LSD. This has been a controversy for years and i would think by now most people would have smartened up a bit. But I guess not.

  • No i'm not admitting i;m wrong because i'm not. And you are way too immature, so I'm done sorry kid.

  • no shit

  • ha, thats funny, the porno films dont draw in so many people now. I wish he could see things now!!!!

  • the signs that he is lying are blatently there. his hands are twitchy, he keeps loosing eye contact with him. jeez, most musicians do it. it's no big deal.

  • Microsoft Sam is gay...

    Copy, Paste, Audio Preview!

  • I got confused, but wow LSD what about the I, T and W? Its really LITSWD. So who ever noticed that is gay. Yes on 8, John McCain will be pres!

  • -"in", "the" and "with" are prepositions, they are not used in that context.

    -"gay"? i suppose you're a teenager

    -prop 8 is bullshit

-unfortuantely for you, johnny is not pres.

  • Maybe his son had LSD was on trip to strawberry fields lol

  • wow he cares about the environment unlike shit yankee polluting the world

  • one great thing about john is that he is one of the only celebs never to give a boring or dishonest interview...now it is all simplistic soundbites

  • hes from liverpool, u.k

  • this is EXACTLY the video I was looking for! I have sent it to every single friend of mine that does not believe Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is NOT ABOUT LSD. The vid is perfect. Thanks for posting!

    -Peace out

  • im sorry its about lsd paul has said that it is about lsd after john died its about lsd they took drugs it was the 70's they were professional musicians and people think that they didnt take drugs and it had no infulunce on them they were the greatest band of all time amazing musicians and yes they took drugs and it did influence a lot of there songs

  • Yes, the actual lyrics are obviously about some drug trip or other John had had, but the fact is that the name of the song, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", had nothing to do with LSD, much less be a code for LSD.

Also, drugs didn't really influence their songs. They allowed drugs to influence their songs, since they never wrote high. They only wrote about experiences they had while high.

  • "If people weren't so inhibited they wouldn't resort to taking drugs as much..." (paraphrasing)

    Yeah, modern society, anybody?
