  • "Yes we did say turbocharged but no it won't dust your buddy's Camaro." Ahah

  • people are forgetting the law of conservation of energy. even though your car may use hydrogen or get high mpg, in the end the same amount of work was done whether it's through low mpg or turning that energy into making a battery. same as the energy that was used to split water into hydrogen which powers the car.

  • @halflifemasta true, but i think the point is having a motor that does not create potentially harmful gases, not using less energy

  • wow they had this technology in 2006. its 2011... still no hydrogen cars. Wtf mate. im sick of it

  • @j23araluce

There are those that will fight it to the death. No not some shadow government, no. Just congress, big oil and everyone that benefits from it.

  • Why is this guy freaking me out, i think hes high as hell, he talks faster than a crackhead

  • 100 k dollars to convert a fucken prius into another prius.the company is wasting its money.

  • Hydrogen cars have the same problem gasoline cars have, a monopolistic infrastructure. You pay whatever they want to charge for the fuel, and you have to go to them for it. We need to go to electric, and everyone fuels up at home.

  • make it look like a v8 chevy and sound like one and i might be interested.

  • my car runs on farts......

  • @xxdavid15 bet that gets good MPG lol

  • "quantum technologies"

    "GREEEN CAR"

    What a fucking IDIOT!!!!!

Holy shit!! That guy is fucking retarded!!!

  • Pass. I'll keep my gas burning Supercharged V6 and my even less efficient turbo rotary engine. Worth every bit of crap thrown into the air. ecobox hybrids annoy me as much as cyclists do.

  • @americansmark

Okay. Gave up my 07 MS3 340hp/382tq. I'm happier than a hog in shit. 64mpg.

  • this is the dumbest fucking car i've ever driven

  • "Turbo" and "Prius" are two words I never thought I would see in the same title.

  • I dont like the idea of a pressurized explosive tank under me while I drive. When are you going to start focusing on an efficient method off hydrogen on-demand??? .

  • So hydrogen is much more powerful than gasoline, and it produces less hp?

  • ill stick to my tbss lol fun fun fun

  • THe best thing people will like is the price

  • did he passed on red at 2:52?

  • @malex33x no he turned and still stoped

  • lol wastegate opening,, thats not the noise jerk

  • Fuck gasoline..Run Alcohol! XD

  • so what happens when those 500 PSI tanks go KABOOM!!!, i see a nice firework show :)

  • @KrazyKenny92 Correction 5000 PSI not 500

It is interesting to note that these carbon fiber tanks will not explode they only get a crack on the side or the safety valve opens and vents the hydrogen straight up and away from the vehicle. But they want you to pay $100000.00 for a vehicle that only travels 100 miles per tank.

    No Thank You

  • @ke4uyp yea fuck that price tag. lol. why do they need to charge such a high price? to make up for what the oil companies are gonna loose? i understand research and development but its a prius; not a lamborghini reventon.

  • IO am not sure about the hydrogen system but the turbo stem on the Prius motor i am sure would sell on it own

  • Does anyone know why this car has less torque than a gas powered car? i thought Hydrogen has more power in it...

  • @crlindst

does it matter? wat do we need more oil and deaths for oil for? just as inventions in the past have been modified, this can be modified too. dont get ahead of urself.

  • i like

  • BRING BACK THE LEADED GASOLINE!

  • gay

  • cool car

  • There would be a definite application of economy of scale if they mass produced the engine. I bet the custom machining of the engine is what inflates the cost. Burning Hydrogen rather than gas....weird!

  • what a bunch of crap

  • This video is a bit old now, but 105 mi range with three tanks? You can do very close to that with just electric alone with lithium-ion batteries. What's all the hydrogen for?

  • omg. i hate hybrids so much. i love wht they do for the enviroment. buh seriously.. how can anyone drive tht?they neeed to put some oomph into it.

  • not all people want a racecar. The environmental friendliness issue of prius is obsurd. No car is environmentally friendly as it takes the destruction of environment to produce any car. Hybrids are just super efficient. Petrol reserves therefore can last longer if cars were more petrol efficient. This allows gas guzzlers like you to enjoy petrol for longer. So thank the prius for allowing your gas guzzling habits to continue.

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND Agreed we need light rail systems in place of the car. I own a prius my wife gets maybe 35-40 mpg in the city she fefuses to drive the car without ac and still races to the stop signs she will have the ac on even when the outside temp is below 72 pisses me off so much since the car is super efficient if you drive without the ac. I can get 70 mpg with the same car makes no sense to drive a car that way most people are not responsible enough to drive properly reason so many crashed.

  • @cdltpx Well it depends on the climate. ICE cars work best in the below 20 degree celcius cold, Hybrids work best in 28 degrees celcius as most battery powered cars do. The Prius stigma continues, yet in 5 years time people will beg for hybrids. Why? it's very simple. In the next 5 years we will not see massive advancements in battery tech. In the next 5 years, oil is going to exponentially increase in terms of expense to the end user. Embrace an efficient system such as electrical circuits.

  • @cdltpx Electrical systems use a fraction of the energy that Internal Combustion systems use. In cars it's all about torque. Electrical motors have pure efficient torque at zero velocity. ICE's use way too much energy to move from zero velocity. It all comes down to reality in the end, not some illusion. I have a v8 corvette project at the moment but I would never drive it to work and back every day simply because I don't wank over my corvette after work. I do that on the weekend. :D

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND Ice or electric the automobile is less efficient than rail because of friction the ICE does such a poor job bc of the level of energy that is waisted generatiing HEAT the electric car and ICE share the issue of energy dissipation through friction with the tire to the road bed hence the reason a corvette has so much against it with her 60's to provice greater traction on the line. Rail is steele on steele and less resistance with friction from wind.

  • @cdltpx Think friction under the hood with the wind on the body of the car the speed generated and the surface area that will be producing work evident by heat. The tire to the road bed generating heat that is quickly cooled but is evident by the level of noise present it is all about FRICTION. Trains with their long slinder build have far less surface area to contact atmosphere reason the bullett trains reach speeds greater than land speed records of any ICE.

  • even though its putting out less horsepower then a standard prius, its pretty amazing to see a turbo charged, inter cooled hydrogen car.

  • I like that. Not super fast, but it'd be neat to keep some miles off of my Camaro.

  • Electric and hydrogen. I'm not an expert, just a consumer, but this sounds like a golden combination.

  • Well seeing a current average hydrogen car can run 1 million$ and only lasts an average of 1 year of driving. Not the most efficient tech right now but I'm hoping for soms tech advancements soon. -.-

  • Hydrogen-powered cars last only an average of 1 year? I'd like to see the source that told you that information. And they cost 1 million dollars on average? You know the Prius hydrogen hybrid costs only around 100-200k, which is a lot less than 1 million dollars.

  • It's from a source I had about 3 years ago, and I was referring to full-on hydrogen vehicles. All I remember on my source is I used it in a school report and it was 82 pages in a word doc with sz 12 font.

  • When people try to argue out of their ass and provide no proof I have no incentive to believe them. After all, it's so easy to sound smart and make an amazing argument online without providing one source to their argument. They might as well say "I believe this is true so it must be!" Anyway, your story is believable, your argument isn't.

  • Like I said, I've been trying to find the website, but I have a saved [outdated] copy of the documents on my computer at school which I could send you. School starts Wends for me.

  • Did he just go through a RED light???? 2:53

  • theres places where we can do it when we turn to right only... here in Quebec we can do it but not at montreal.

  • No, he ran a red. As Rythm said we (I'm in Ontario) can make a right on a red, however you have to stop for the red first.

    He didn't stop.

  • taking a right on red isnt illegal here in some states

  • Um, no, he came to a full stop.

  • Comment removed

  • he made a right turn on a red...

    that is legal

  • 100 miles and then fill er up.. ha ha are you guys ever stupid!!! I forget how much they estimated the hydrogen to be, but it was way more expensive than gas. While it is true that you can make your own, those tanks are 5000 psi, so you have to compress your hydrogen to 5000 psi to get a full tank!!! What a joke, just use batteries, dont buy into the BUY OUR NEW FEUL scheme!!!

    1 star... Boooo

  • lol everyone can make hydrogen at their homes,

so.. how do you converse it then?

  • With some time and development I foresee the use of solar panel running an electrolyzer to generate and store Hydrogen for at the very least emergencies eliminating the problem of ever being stranded due to running out of fuel, if not eliminating the need for fueling stations altogether. Simply add some water to the electrolytes, let the car sit, and after its generated an adequate amount drive away. :)

  • i put a lawnmower engine in a car i get 120 mpg lol

  • lol good one

  • ok.. so they made it a bit louder, a bit slower and a lot heavier nice ... getting a nice mpg is not enough from a car. it seems they are saving money on the cheap plastic dashboards

  • Less range at 10% more cost of a Hydrogen car, $100k + the cost of the Prius.

  • Has anyone ever seen the MYT engine on Y tube check it and ask your self?!

  • didn't mention cost per mile.

  • Rather than going turbo, why not use hydrogen to enhance gasoline combustion. Similar to how h20 conversions are done, but without the onboard hydrogen conversion. Also, why not use on a hybrid?

  • So why don't these idiots start mass producing these vehicles period! "Because they don't want to period!" They rather continue on polluting the earth!

  • I don't think its there decision.

  • Then whose decision is it, to mass produce these types of vehicles. Because the world of people needs these vehicles. To enhance the beauty of the world. Because by using these earth-friendly vehicles. Can actually promote an cleaner & safer environment. "You know....?"

  • Big Oil ...

  • You guess it right! Its the big oil giants behind it. These oil giants do want STOP progress from happening.

  • You can convert your paid for gasoline car to HHO, with no batteries, & no refueling at a station & it will run better 4 longer, but for some reason you cannot (yet) convert a diesel. There are kits ranging from $150 to $1500, though they go much higher too, but that would be nutz when the others are good. Kits 4 hybrid gas/HHO start at $50 and at least greatly increase gas mileage for all U folks 2 addicted to gasoline to give it up "cold turkey":-).

  • GT3076R please.

  • de-cat that bitch too

  • im getting a kewet el-jet. thats more badass than the thing there driving will ever get

  • still a prius, still a hybrid, still ugly, still wouldnt drive it... EVER. Would rather have a diesel like most are talking about in the comments.

  • Any ugly car that gets 50mph is better than a pretty gas hog car.

  • So your saying you would rather drive an ugly car thats good on gas?? wow now ive heard everything. I'll take my jeep over that thing anyday.

  • Yes. For many things in life, fashion before function is complete stupidity. If your jeep is needed to traverse harsh roads and muddy terrain, then that sounds like the right choice of vehicle. If your jeep is strictly for city driving, going to work and back plus grocery shopping on the weekends, then you are using the wrong tool for the job. Trade your stupid vanity in for smart economy.

  • @kaduisaui I agree completely! sadly people are too stupid to think about that when considering a vehicle, and regardless of the amount of information out there to help change that, again they are too ignorant to do the research and use the information to move forward. Good example is the 'Who Killed the Electric Car?' documentary. Alot was the oil companies, another was due to the ignorance of the masses,

  • I guess I wouldn't expect any other response, than that from someone who calls his/her self chryslerdaytona, But hey I like jeeps! =}

  • lol Not really sure how to take that, either way a hybrid just isnt my thing. And as he mentioned price wise this conversion just isnt worth it, there are many better ( and cheaper) alternatives.

  • still not ready for the middle class to buy

when will they start building a 18,000 dollar

    electric/hydrogen car?

  • screw the oil companies.... they are evil!

  • @kanadali

    screw Rockerfeller's empire in general.

all those wars n deaths over oil.... n NOW its ALL over the gulf to make things worse. babylon must be derooted.

  • @kanadali

    because electricity is free

  • wow so this car costs a butt load has less power more crap to go wrong on the engine. i would rather stick with my 1997 volks jetta tdi that gets 52 hwy and 49 city.

  • ...going downhill!

  • you would think but seriously i do.... its all in how you drive ( no ac and no unnecessary weight).... i just cant give into hybrids when i can get the same economy with a diesel. its not as environmentally friendly but the car is paid for, and i don't have to buy batteries in 3 to 4 years. come to think of it the battery making process is not very friendly to mother earth either... the mineing for the battery material causes acid rain but what doesn't now a days.

    later

  • thats why i said, going downhill, even a honda CRX with a JDM 1.3L can get 40-45 MPG, not that hard.

  • I doubt you could get 40-45MPG from a Honda CRX while getting the same performance that a turbo diesel engine gives, and as consistently as a diesel powered car can. I would frequently achieve 60MPG from my diesel car.

Nonetheless, the cost of diesel fuel vs gasoline fuel and the achievable MPG makes a hybrid vehicle the cheaper option in respect to mileage.

  • JUST BECAUSE I SAID JDM DOESNT MEAN ITS MODIFIED FOR RACING RETARD: JDM stands for Japan Domestic MARKET.

CRXs weight 500 pounds when stripped, and you strip it fully, then you put in 1.3L and you get 45-50 MPG easy.

  • Retard?

So you're saying that you can achieve 45MPG-50MPG (notice you've upped it from 40-45MPG) if you strip your car down to its bones, and we can achieve 45MPG with a perfectly well equipped diesel. Yes, I can see who is making retarded comments here.

I love your 1.3 litre p.o.s. that can almost pull a trailer, for real. I'd definitely prefer it over a strong diesel engine that'll still be pulling strong even while your tappets are on their last taps.

  • I can make a 300 range hydrogen mile car.

  • ... whats stopping you?

  • this guy sounds so gay, like the snl lady who like to think shez better then everyone. High pitch ending after every sentance.

  • haha this vehicle has about 10% less horsepower than the gasoline version.......so ur sayin it has 90 horses......bahahahah and turbo and intercooled thats gaaaay!

  • haha turbocharged prius

  • Gor818,

you're an idiot. It has already dropped 50 cents in the past month in California.

Yes, it is still a high $4 (Was $4.55 or so), but, it's still dropping. If it does go up, it might hit $5 max by december, IF it does.

  • six figures!!!

  • Look guys the problem with hydrogen is that were still useing old tecnology why not look in to the new engines like the m.y.t motor.

4X the power of a V8 but only half the size

  • what a bunch of idiots, if they lost power that means they aren't putting enough hydrogen into the cylinder, hydrogen is more explosive than gasoline and more explosive than alchohol. they lost power oh wait thats cause they got 2 200 lb tanks sitting where the gas tank was.....lol

  • what a waste of money?

  • it cost5.50 4 1 gallon

  • It cost 475 here in chicago im driving a stock civic...

  • Liquid Hydrogen you idiot! More stable than gasoline! No more boom potential than in a gas powered vehicle in a collision! Have you even ever seen a liquid hydrogen tank!?? Pretty robust due to the high pressure required to maintain liquid state! Shit man figure it out!!

  • Ahhh pass by Staples every day =] GO LAKERS!!!

  • 75 mile range? piece of shit.

  • calm down faggot

  • an old civic gets better mileage than most of the economy cars that come out today.

  • ...You guys are aware you can't make a tank big enough to hold enough hydrogen to power a car.

  • hydrogen too expensive , they should have battery stations that you go and pick up a fresh battery for your de charged one

  • Fucking moron. The idea is to convert and extract hydrogen from other products not purchase already processed hydrogen.

  • this guy is out of his mind 600k to convert to hydrogen and less power too just watch the Hydrogen Fuel - Engine Fundamentals videos on youtube might find something out

  • Electric and Hydrogen. You can poison the water table with the batteries then blow yourself up in a collision. The best of both worlds. Green and safe?!?!?

  • I can't believe the Governator is still trying to get Hydrogen up as a viable fuel source. Solar/Electric will eventually win out as the process for imbedding the panels into the paint becomes financially viable.

And, beleive it or not, most major oil companies have their hands in the R&D of renewable fuels (like wind, solar, and geothermal.) I think it is the same business model Phillip Morris used when they bought Nabisco. "How do we make money when the good stuff is gone?"

  • I feel like the guy is trying to sell me a used Ford Pinto.

  • Why does it cost so much!

  • you should leave the Z28 idling outside of starbucks for like 4 hours one day, see how many hippies give you the evil eye.

  • hahahaha, too bad i can only give it a single thumb up or your comment would get 2 =)

  • it cost you 4.04 for a gal. wait 3 years from now. 20.00 a gal.

  • is 4.39 in LA and i'm still driving my z28 and ss :)

  • i doubt it iwll ever get to 20 dollars. gas price i think will nto get pass 5 dollars or 6 that about it. by the time it get there it think there will be an alternative fuel source.

  • by december its going to be 15 dollars and in january when the president sits, its going to dramatically drop.

    you guys'll see

  • i really hope your right

  • if it jumped to $15 by december, i think that might actually be the breaking point of americans and they would riot and burn the whitehouse down to the ground.

Also, @ $15/gallon all the transports on the road would not be running. Shipments to stores would stop and people would be starving. Your country would shut down.

    /story.

  • Hydrogen is a big joke. Why not just go full solar-plug in electrical? Oh I know why, the gas companies can't make a profit...My bad. This Prius is turboed and intercooled and isn't making 200hp? As the Brits would say, "Piss Off"

  • ummm, b/c after 100 years of working with batteries they can store 40 miles worth of power(solar power in your example)....wow....and take longer than 8 hours to charge.....do you have a solution do these problems??? thats why people are excited about the possiblities of hydrogen...its no joke.

  • turbo, hybrid, 4 door, hydro, now all it needs is a ricer pipe!

  • fuel cell-electric vehicles are way cooler. Like the 'Venturi Fetish' and Killacycle, that's the way forward. Since they're silent, have better acceleration, and work from a central technology, that being electricity and nothing but electricity. Internal Combustion Engines suck since they're noisy, inefficient, as they work from a explosive to a mechanical force. While Fuel Cell/Electric work from electrical to mechanical.

  • Sorry. Fuelcells run on hydrogen that take 4 more times the power to make, then to just let the car to run on pure electricity. if you have one unit of power to spend, and that will get you, say, 100 miles in pure electricity.. the same power would only extract 25 miles of hydrogen. and.. the little problem that a fuel cell costs about 1 million dollars on its own. Pure electric cars are ready now. Fuel cell vehicles are just a dream and are being used to divert us from pure EV's.

  • OH HE'S GOT TURBO!!!!

  • Six figures? uhg.

  • Better not crash it 3- 5,000psi tanks is a lot of hydrogen

  • There's a safety mechanism I believe, they won't blow up.

  • oh good, you can repeat jeff dunham badly

  • i though it was quiet funny my self

  • watch spark of insanity--then you will realize this form of delivery can't compare

  • turbo hydrogen prius. far out. Hydrogen is highly implosive as it is in 1 atm pressure. I have a prius and I love it. I dont see the point of having the electric drive in it if it's hydrogen powered though. It's best just to burn hydrogen gas in a larger engine like a 1.8L rather than a 1.5L with a HSD.

  • you guys are not trying to help our country and the planet as a whole. You are inventing a gas-free cars that ordinary people like me can't afford. And to think that you are our only hope to take the gas companies off our backs are a big mistake.Because here you are, talking about your new invention For millionaires only! What a crackhead!!!!

  • Venrolwill - So you're saying designing and building alternative energy engines isn't necessary? New technology inevitably costs exhorbitant amounts of money but as it becomes used more and phased into existing systems, it becomes cheaper. It takes time. Science is about experimentation and is entirely necessary. We wouldn't be typing on pc over the internet right now if it wasn't.

  • I didn't say it isn't necessary!I even said that you are our only hope! You exagerate what I said!just like you exagerate the price of your new invention!Get a reality check DOnrad77,you are not building a phantum PLANE!!!And don't even compare the price of your car to computers when it was first invented because it didn't cost people million dollars when it was put in the market!I can't believe this guy just ruined my beauty rest!

  • My mistake!you are not one of these two scoundrels who's out brainwashing people! But because you allow yourself to be one of their desciples,I guess you can apply what I just said to you!And if I may add!You people should not take advantage of what God has given you!He gave you people, technological knowledge to save our dying planet and what you're doing is basically selling it to the devil for money!I will call all of you LOST HUMAN BEING!

  • Hydrogen-powered cars are still primarily in planning/designing stage - no? Not ready 4 mass production/consumer market yet? Perhaps u haven't considered that the million $ price tag 4 the design rights 2 this kind of invention is being soley marketed to the billion dollar car manufacturers; not to the individual/public yet? Ppl everywhere will get much cheaper by-products from a design like eventually. The potential benfits 2 the planet seem worth it to me.

  • We spend wayyy more in the war of Iraq.

  • We spend wayyy more in the war of Iraq.

  • Unfortunately we aren't living in the horse and carraige days anymore Venrowill - contemporary times incorporate profit and greed, externalisation of blame, corporations, and other nasties that we find it hard to escape from. I for one would support any plan for a better future/ healthier planet even if it took many many years and dollars to see it into its true fruition. As for your personal attacks, I say nothing..

  • What can I say,I really mean it,when I say I am so sorry...

  • Not a problem mate. You sound like a decent person - sorry if I came across as condescending.

  • By the look of some comments its clear again: America is full off ignorant selfish emo mofo's who don't give a shit about others, themselfs or nature.

  • Hydrogen has got to be the dumbest thing. Ruined a perfectly ggod car

  • RE: Hydrogen gas is a joke.

YES - conventional hydrogen generation uses upto 4 times as much energy to create the same amount of hydrogen.

Creating a "hydrogen economy" just keeps the big oil in control of the Worlds' economy when really we need decentralized power stations and cars running on HHO/Hydroxy or electricity with better battery tech like Toshiba have announced with the nano tech Li-Ion batteries.

    peace :)

  • Cutting edge?

Cars were running on hydrogen before The model T. Thats nearly a century old technology. lol.

  • 105 miles my ass.... crap

  • i love prius

  • All these so called experts are just trying to make their wallets fat. Most people drive minimul miles a day. Get an electric car! they've been around since the easrly 1900's. It's the same with the light bulb. One of Edisons first light bulbs still lights today..google it, it's a fact!!! BASTARDS!!!

  • Less HP on Hydrogen/Oxygen.???

That doesn't add up. Someone has not converted the engine correctly. To run a quick burn gas, you need, short stroke, high comp, O deg timing. I think they forgot to mention whenever you "burn" anything in the atmosphere you get carbon. That must have slipped their mind.

  • Just wondering what the point was in removing one of the most clean running petrol motors available on the market.? Why don't the yanks try pulling out their 9mpg V8's and running them on water? Just a thought.

  • because they want to have more than 4 hp

  • You should have read my 2nd post before posting your comment.

Not to mention 400Hp from 6L is crap. Especially when you consider the amount of fuel they burn to get it.

  • i dont care how much gas my car uses i can afford to buy gas your just poor and you feel everybody else should drive shitty cars just like you

  • well shitheads like you are making this world a shitplace. so yes you should drive shitty cars (which aren't really shitty) american goverment should be moved from this world in the same circle of hell as hitler and all the other ''bad bad persons''

  • i really dont care because by the time any of my actions will affect the earth, i will have been dead for decades

  • what about your kids dickhead?

  • i dont have any kids

  • y'know there were droves of people just like you in the 1920's who ended up in breadlines just a few years later. In fact a lot of them ended up committing suicide having fallen from wealth to extreme poverty.

So ten years from now when you're giving that revolver a blowjob, because you can't afford to feed yourself and living on the streets, I want you to remember what an arrogant prick you were just before it's lights out.

You're not superman and this shit can and will affect you too.

  • no not really im rich as shit and that will never change my money is stored in multiple banks that are all FDIC insured so im set for life

  • nothing is sure and you're never set for life..money comes in slowly but goes away much quicker

  • im 27 and i am set for life because i dont go out and blow my money on gold plated tv's and other dumb shit like that

  • your obviously not even old enough to have any.. and spoiled..

  • What about your demon that will be cursed to walk the face of the hellish holocaust like plagued earth that you single handedly consciously created and your Karma that hunts you like a eagle-eyed red-necked southern boy armed with a .30-06 equipped with a laser scope hunts a 30 pound wild turkey caught in a barbed wire fence at 10 yards on Thanksgiving morn?

  • yeah thats fun, i use a .45-70. And i dont believe in karma
