  • That cake sure looked good.  I see she had to light the oven pilot with a match. I remember my mom having to do that.

  • This commercial first aired in early 1962 [note the ad on the back of the newspaper "Ann Foster" is reading at :10- Loew's Theaters in New York are "currently" showing Elvis Presley's "Blue Hawaii"]. General Mills was trying to stress the fact that, no matter WHERE you are, Gold Medal is right there to help you bake your best...and your "white thumb" proves it! And don't forget the "Betty Crocker" frosting!
