stretching doesn't and shouldn't hurt. pain's a sign to stop. "a gauge" is an incorrect term. they're called plugs. i urge you to research beforehand! stretching should be considered a permanent modification. to stretch your ears get a taper, lube it up with KY and slide it through your hole if there is resistance then stop and massage your lobes for a few weeks and try again. if it goes through put in no or single flare titanium or glass plugs. repeat every 1-3 months going up 1 size each time.
