My brother had this album when I was a kid , and this track has always stayed in my head. A few years ago I found the album at my Dads minus the sleeve and in a terrible state. And goodbye being my favorite track had a bad scratch and jumped, a few years ago the Album came up on ebay to my delight. This is a great song with a fantastic solo that is timeless. Thanks to John Dunsterville and the Rainbow Ffolly.......
One of my hypothetical Desert Island Discs. I'm friends with the singer's daughter, have met John Dunsterville but next time I'll make sure he knows it's the most achingly beautiful song ever.
I've actually got this album. I bought it in York in about 1983. I'd never heard of Rainbow Ffolly, nor had anyone I spoke to. I wrote to the New Musical Express, but didn't get a response. Only when Google finally took off did I find out the truth. Thus, for about 20 years, I laboured under the suspicion that RF was simply a nom de plume for the Beatles. Same record label, similar outlook on life - and easily EASILY the same quality. This is quite simply the most underrated album of all time.

Don't know why, but first thing that came to mind from the vocals is Mr. Burns as a young man.
