  • Shit job.....any1 knw wot the pay wud b like and wether only white english people are allowed to do it

  • bless him

  • @Pringles352 well for you information miss i am so hold back on your comments before you judge someone without knowing OK?

  • Getting up at 4:30 am and getting himself ready to have kit re-polished and thoroughly inspected, going to horse barracks to have horse equipment thoroughly set and checked, saluting the colours no matter the weather, and after a meager breakfast, being sentry there for hours. Poor mate, people should have more respect for the job they do.

  • pity theres no national service anymore ,all the piss takers, and scroungers would soon learn respect for their betters.

  • I find it pathetic that people should find an incident such as this entertaining, surely theres other things in the city far more interesting than a human being feeling a little bit sleepy,i wish he'd told you to fuck off you sad twat.

  • @barneyboscoe Interesting enough for you to have watched it and commented though, so job done! Thanks for viewing saddo!

  • @barneyboscoe clam down mate. The joke is that he is a guard... and he is nodding off. Thats why its funny you mong

  • @barneyboscoe Then again, if he'd sleep enough, he wouldn't be tired.

In other words, he should learn to take responsibility.

  • Anyone who lives locally will know this isn't abnormal. whenever i've been passing there always falling asleep, most likely cos they have life's and go out the night before

  • He was probably just refreshing his eyes. I do that some time, while being wide awake.

  • Most people don't no any better than this in their life. Spiritually its worthless

  • he is just high

  • @scottcain2005 Wrong video bud.... Your a long way from US Army here LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is someone from the Blues and Royals wearing his chin strap like the Life Guards?

  • What a loyal guard. He fights his sleepiness to protect the citizens of town

  • Poor guy... Still trying to do his duty while fighting sleepiness

  • Poor guy I hope they didn't can him over this. It's impossible when you have to sleep attack to fight it unless you get doped up on red bull. Maybe they should hand those out.

  • Too much weed and porn ..........

  • horse fell asleep too and was talking in his sleep lol

  • this regiment is the closest thing to slave labour. I have been in this regiment and have seen soldiers treated worse than rats including myself. The people who run this regiment right through the ranks are low life scum. I have more respect for criminals.

  • Poor boy - he really needs some sleep.

  • Drugs !!!!!!!!! XD

  • @brasz1 fuck off this is hard job ever seen

  • Poor thing. He looked awfully tired.

  • @Atomicomet the household cavalry are both mounted guard at knightsbridge and formation recce crew in windsor (comberemere barracks) 1 regiment- 2 squadrons the life guards and blues and royals (my lot) lthough they are distinctive in ceremonial uniform the are mixed when on ops :) happy?

  • cannot wait finally got into the avalry 16th october 2011 bassingbourn!!!!!

  • @thebazza100 please indulge us on what the avalry do.

  • I dont get why britian uses swords, do they realize guns exist in this era?

  • @jpodejko We have guns AND swords, it just so happens that WE know how to use swords as well.

  • @wickedpheonix1995 Main hand melee weapons are useless.

  • @jpodejko U really think that we go out to afghanistan with fucking swords?! wow

  • @jpodejko what a pethetic comment lol

  • @jpodejko What is 'britian'....and where the fuck do you come from, not only does'britian' have guns,it also has a 'nuelcaer' deterrent.???

  • This is not a scandal or anything, he was getting a bit sleepy but did not completely dose off. Most security guard companies even the strict ones would not terminate a person for that slight of a nod, and he would still not be relieved of his post even if the Field Manager saw this.

  • What flaming Biff Glad he aint in my reg. waste of rations i hope he got ROPS for weeks

  • @komaki119

what reg you from then. you dont even know him how can you say that. just because he was talking. OH NO I HATE HIM HE WAS TALKING A LITTLE. your a joke.

  • Comment removed

  • @dayle23abbott just a bit of banter mate don't be soft you are a soldier after all.

  • You guys are idiots if you really think that Shabaz68 is actually the guy in the video. This is the internet, ANYONE can say ANYTHING. Lets be real here people.

  • @rr92890 thats a fair point if any but instead of just blabbering out what you think why didnt you just email and ask me your self if you dont believe me!

  • he looks really cool

  • I love this guards, I feel so sorry for them when people do videos like this. Do u think it is funny in some way? Do u even realise how importen their jobs are? I guess not, you are prob on benefits u tard.

  • @djfrenzy40 Seriously this lad got let go? People really need to becareful of the videos they post. They don't realize or care how hard you guys train to get to this point. Are you still with the guards?

  • @maddisonloree I am still there yes...I take your point straight...putting videos of guys (not doing their job 100% correct) is a bad thing to do...1 it put a bad name on that person and 2 it puts a one mighty upset for that regiment so thanks for backing me up. Cheers

  • @djfrenzy40 Any time mate. Tourist think you guys stand around for show, when in reality you are there to protect the country. I feel bad for your regiment because this idiot that took this video didn't realize that maybe the lad just got off a tour in Afghanistan and was just worn out. Stupid prats.

Do you have a twitter account? If so I would like to follow you.

  • Just to let you know that the guy in the video got fucked over after this was posed. I know that as i am in that regiment and i do the same job as he does. So have the bit of respect for the guys who are trying tokeep you safe. And putting vidoes on here making it funny is ut the question. Its totaly descuste me

  • @djfrenzy40 You might want to read the comments of the soldier featured in this video after I offered to remove it before expressing your 'disgust'

"hi, id just like to say that i have no anger or any bad feelings towards you, nor do i mind this video being put on up here i actually found it funny as hell after id finnished being charged as did the rest of my regiment..."

  • @djfrenzy40

I'm sure the uploader didn't intend to disgrace the regiment, however that's the problem with short videos and photographs - they don't show the whole picture. Fortunatly the photos i've uploaded on youtube should do them justice and show how they conduct themselves 99.9 percent of the time.

  • @djfrenzy40 Did he get fired?

  • @djfrenzy40 you are certainly not in the horse guards. You need to pass some pretty gruelling tests, including intelligence tests, and by the looks of your comment you have very little of it

  • is he talking with himself!?

  • I hope he didn't get fired because of this video.

  • Comment removed

  • i wish i had one of those hats T.T

  • poor guy...

  • i don't blame him for being sleepy.... the job must be so boring

  • @tc123123 8 hours on a horses back

at the end he must walk like a duck

  • @tc123123 ineresting, what's the salary

  • @tc123123 So many people say "Oh that looks so boring" its British Military tradition, may not be exciting but unless you've done it you can't know what its like

  • @tc123123 And he's probably tired from being up all night cleaning his kit!

  • Poor chap, y'know this is considered somewhat of a punishment in the regiment! I don't know why everyone gets so uptight about it, I'm British and even I find it funny he's so sleepy :p

  • at least he gets a horse to sit on unlike the guards who just stand there all day

  • @wannos27 wasn't denying they wouldn't hesitate to do some damage. Just commenting back to the people who say "what's the point of them".

  • What a shame - for whatever reason he's clearly not in a fit state to be on duty. No doubt he has been disciplined for letting the side down. Is he answering a question or singing to himself in order to stay awake and not fall of his horse?

  • Can someone tell my why all English ceremonial guard type headwear has a chinstrap that doesn't actually go under the chin?

  • @EscapistGaming in many cases the chin strap goes under the lip. Hell I bet if you go watch your local high school marching band, their percussion will wear their chin strap under their lip.

  • @infamousraiderh. blues royals traditions dictate the chin strap is worn under the chin, the life gaurds wear theirs under the lip. there are two regiments combined into one. the blues and royals (in blue tunics) and the lifegaurds (red tunics) the regiment is known and refered to as the householdcavelry mounted regiment or HCMR for short. the other side to this glorious job is called household cavelry regiment.

one side does horse the other does armoured reccy. all soldiers must do both

  • @EscapistGaming tradition. hundreds of years of tradition. and not all. as you can see in the clip above the blues and royals wear it under the chin.

  • He probably got written off the night before

  • Clearly bladderd more like

  • What's his job? Staying vigilant all day long? That's so boring...

  • Here's a fun little fact, your average guard at the london tower has roughly the same amount of training as a special forces soldier. That of course depends on which battalion is on duty, but these aren't your average grunts that came straight out of training. There's a reason these guys are assigned to protect the Queen, and I'm guessing each and every one of them want to fuck you up for all the abuse they've taken

  • @DJReddie And rightly so mate, forget cannabis, bayonetting should be legalised.

  • he is bored man

  • How much do these guys get paid for this job?

  • long day for him balancing in his saddle and taking micro naps

  • does the horse have to stand all day too?

  • so what he wanted some shut eye

  • Why are you filming his face in the first place?

  • Comment removed

  • some military wear an uniform ... others wear a costume!!

    roflmao

  • poor guy. He must have been up for day.

  • He sayed Fuck YOu

  • but they have to look down at every head turn and the second time he was talking to the guard next to him

  • HAHAHAHA at the horse moving its mouth at 00:00 - 00:06

  • To be fair the horse is the real saint. You dont see him falling asleep or asking to gaurd to sit on his back.

  • @tn163ta Horses sleep while standing up. So the horse may have been taking a nap as well. ^ ^

  • You do your best

But you always find someone will moan about what you do

You will also probably find that these people who find something wrong with what you and others do

    Could not FILL YOUR BOOTS

In fact in times of trouble THEY will be the ones to run hiding behind People Like YOU

Good luck to you and the rest of OUR ARMED FORCES

I wish I could be there with you all

But again like a lot of people I too could not fill your boots

You all make me proud to be British

    Keep it up

  • Lol what if that horse decided to take off? hahaha

  • @it8nky0u You idiot, the horse has more discipline and inteligence than you could ever hope to have. you speak like a 5 year old.

  • people sure do get wound up about anything involving America lately. Ignorant prejudice hipsters, you realize you don't even understand and can't name reasons you hate America other than an ex president? The average intelligence the world over is quite low, apparently.

  • Being on Guard duty is considered a punishment, what ever he was being punished for was clearlly affecting him

  • @jonnyb1900

All troopers and guardsmen are committed to perform their public duties equally. Failing to turn out immaculately on parade will result in punishment, one that is non-ceremonial and out of the public gaze.

Ceremonial and public duties are not set aside exclusively for 'punishment'.

So, it is quite the opposite. For instance, a sloppy soldier deserving of punishment, will not be allowed on parade or to go on sentry duty.

  • i wonder the poor guy still has his job if the queen saw this poor guy is tired was up all nite poor guy:(

  • just for the record he's from the Blues and Royals not the Life Guards, but its a cool vid

  • hahahah ,,, poor guy is still high with last nights beer..

  • LOl, at there army

    They were joke equipment

  • @neema125 You need to learn English...Wear!!

  • should change the title of the video to FIT Sleepy Soldier at Horseguard's? :))

  • What you didn't see is that this lad got back into work 20 minutes before duty... Still smashed and stinking of some loose London bird! HA! I miss it...

  • @bobnudd Oh and Bobnudd i agree with you. You've been there for us since the starting hour of day one. for any1 that thinks the Royal military hasn't done anything, then you truly are fucking stupid. Im proud to call you a comrade.

  • @shabaz68 Im terribly sorry to hear about your legs and i didn't find this video funny at all really. As a U.S. AirForce Pararescue Soldier, i salute u for ur service and losses in the military , and as a comrade to the U.S. Military.

  • I did not put this video up to ridicule the British or any other Army, it was a case of being there and pointing the camera at what appeared to be a humerous incident.

If what you are saying is true shabaz68, then I have nothing but sympathy for your injuries, and apologies for any embarrassment caused. I salute you and those who stand alongside you in the name of doing whatever duty you are asked to perform.

  • @clementsphil hi, id just like to say that i have no anger or any bad feelings towards you, nor do i mind this video being put on up here i actually found it funny as hell after id finnished being charged as did the rest of my regiment. i just cant take it when people are so ignorent and disrespectfull to the rest of the british army just because of this one incident, id like to see how rude these people would be if they had to watch good friends being burried because dieing at war. thanks.

  • @shabaz68 I for one have the utmost respect to all members of the armed forces, and the job that you have to do, regardless of it being wrong or right, whether ceremonial or in theatre - I would not have the balls to do it, and I daresay that neither would many of the others making inane comments here. I don't do politics, but regardless of nationality, all of those in Afghanistan are fighting the same war.

  • @clementsphil

i salute you for being in the very brave few that admit to that.

  • to all twats that think this is all we do your horribly wrong! i am the guard in this video and guess what ive lost both of my legs in afghanistan so get your fuckin stories right!

  • @shabaz68 You always look so peaceful when you're asleep :L

  • @shabaz68

this is the reason why I don't agree with the war in Afghanistan. You and so many other young men have lost their legs and for what? However I think the Household Calvary do a fine job at HorseGuards and on ceremonial duty. As for nodding off. I can empathise as I have been fine one minute and ill the next. Luckily nobody was taking a video of me.

  • @SSgtParmer well im glad you think we dont do as much dickhead, im the guy on guard and let me tell you ive beenin the army 6 years and doing these type of guard duty's was the harest part of it. for your information ive lost both of my legs below the knee lets see you do what we do fuck head and if i ever did have to meet you wheel chair or not id knock you the fuck out for having such disrespect!!! fucking cock!

  • @SSgtParmer I speak for england when I say nob off cockjockey.

  • @SSgtParmer you sir are what we call in england a dickhead allso known as a cock !

as for our troops in afgan dont make me laugh we helped you out from day one and all we get is a comment like that and friendly fire get back in your trailer fatty.

  • @bobnudd

Keep a stiff upper lip and quit letting these people upset you.

  • @24preacherboy sorry m8 just winds me up about whats going on in afgan and the lads comming home in coffens all aged in there 20s and theres idiots like that who shame there memory , ill take your advice as you are very right i shouldnt bite ,. Per Mare Per Terram.

  • why do they wear the strap on their chin instead of under it??

  • @mstwifan4eva Well actually they don't. THis guy is in the Blues and Royals and should actually have the strap on/under the chin. If it were a Life Guard they wear the strap just below the bottom lip.

  • they can talk?

  • You know this guy got into a ton of shit for this.

  • LOOKS EASY REALLY EASY I BET I COULD DO IT but I CAN BECUASE IM STUCK ON A BOT

  • He just needs a few 5 hour energy shots.

  • he was pissed up from the night before

  • very diffcult job

  • listen guys i have served in the Blues, and it is fucking hard work and any chance you get you sleep but not on your horse but again you cant blame the lad, he get no sleep as it is

  • poor guys time is being wasted doing nothing.

  • just so all of my fans know i now have my prostetics and im up and walking and am even the first double amputie to drive a manual car! pretty impressive ey lol.

  • @shabaz68 .

Well done Shabaz, you doing us proud Mate.

    From an Ex Jock Guard

  • he is hung over, case closed

  • He won't go completely asleep - his sense of balance, and the horse's movements will wake him up. The horse is aware that he's falling asleep, for sure; they're amazingly sensitive. That's a difficult job for him, and also for the horse - standing on pavement for so long isn't good for their joints.

  • lol, " BEWARE; horses my kick or bite! Thank you".

  • poor guard he ggot woken up

  • Comment removed

  • @tbnrobin

fucking retard, this lad will go on tour to Afghanistan or Iraq at some point. He's got a much more challenging and important job than yours, which is sat at your computer and writing bullshit on youtube videos.

  • Comment removed

  • @tbnrobin i dont see what could be a better job than serving your country and protecting the queen - thats what the cavalry do with swords not a knife, they dont wear costumes they wear uniforms and they work bloody hard with the horses then go to the armoured side and go fight in afgan for idiots like you get some respect

  • Comment removed

  • @tbnrobin You will protect what is yours? And how will you contribute to a co-ordinated defence of your community. You claim to have no patriotic inclinations, which is fair enough, but do you also not care about your local area? And are you so ignorant as to believe that national, local and personal infrastructures are not iner-related? This is a question, note, not an accusation, so please do not respond with "your mother is a whore" style insults.

  • Comment removed

  • @tbnrobin They do go on operations, yes. They alternate between cycles of normal Army duties (training, deployment, training etc) and ceremonmial duties. The Grenadier Guards for example just returned from Afghanistan, before going straight onto Trooping The Colour and a ceremonial cycle of duties.

  • @pterob Then I apologize, I do still think this part of their job is still unnecessary. But Since they also are the real deal I'll remove all me commentz :D

  • wht is he even saying

  • My cousins husband does this and says it is incredibly difficult to keep up with and stay alert and focussed. Furthermore, the abuse of these guards by the public is why i love that video of the standing guard putting a European tourist into submission when he actually touched him. Unlimited respect to these guys

  • he has probably not slept propperly in like a whole week which is why he's tired.

  • sergeant is also french not an english word.

  • i heard this boy is dynamite in bed!

  • also those regiments dont have sergeants, they have lance corporal of horse which is like one below a sergeant and a corporal of horse which is a sergeant so to speak.. the two regiments dont use common military rank shared between the other army regiments.

  • that because sergeant means slave , and these are the queens regiments and dont have slaves ..

  • its a ceromonial role which used to be a very real job about 1 hundred years ago maybe even not that long ago. that armour and weapon and clothing was the soldiers main combat geer, the cuirases where not highly polished like they are now but just mat metal which had to be cleaned with wire wool to remove rust from bad weather conditions and the sabres they carry where sharp and used as reall weapon in war time.

  • they only polished them up and shined the boots and made a fuss out of how great they should when they turnedd to armoured fighting vehicles and opted to keep the horses and guard duty's for tradition purposes and tourism.. make no mistake though people these are real serving soldiers trained to fight.

ive seen too many people mocking these guards on duty.

  • @wannos27 Fight who? With swords? I don't think so, if they had serious protection roles, they'd be trained and issued with rifles.

  • @Kookas dude if you dont know dont comment. i was one of them. i know!

  • actually ive lost both of my feet, lol gettin some new supe ones soon. yeay!!

  • Poor lad has just lost a leg in afghanistan a few weeks ago...

  • @elms29 its littleboy wtf he got hes leg blownoff??

  • it z a hard work i ever say

  • hangover

  • He must have gotten shredded by his Troop Sergeant later.........

  • so horseguards are allowed to talk but others arent?

  • 5 hrs minimum spent everyday polishing kit to the highest standard possible. Riding practice all the time. 5 AM starts everyday. Don't blame the guy!

  • Aww...I want to give him some coffee or something.

  • I dont think some people know how hard it is when your on duty ,you can be ill and you still have to turn out ,you might of had only 3 hours sleep and you have a 9 hour stand and you cant talk to no one its very hard and my hat comes off to these lads i dont know how i used to do it ,well i do i was younger :)

  • @bobnudd

    boo hoo

"if you gonna be dumg you have to be though"

  • @oftothewoods and that made no sence at all

  • @bobnudd Wow! You used to be an English guard?

  • @FalloutRadius A long time ago m8 yes :)

  • @bobnudd i totally agree after all we are all people and and can get sick or have any other kind of misfortune or problem or just be tired no matter the duty or job

  • Aww he's so handsome. ^^ Must have had a long night.

  • He's doing kits till late at night then has to be up at 5am . lol

  • well most of the guards do look very tired ... lol try sitting on a horse for 2-4 hours without mooving ... not cool

  • To me, it seems as though his attire is more for show...not very practical... if something were to happen... he looks extremely tired, His helmet looks to be more of a pain, than to be any use... Of course I say this with respect to our allies across the sea! :] .. Great place to visit! Would love to go back!... And to all the soldiers helping fight this war; THANK YOU!

  • Good observation captain obvious!

when was the last time you saw a soldier run into battle with a polished gold-plated helmet and sword? of course its for show!

  • OBVIOUSLY you didn't read what i typed.. what if something were to happen...he is on duty with a sword and an uncomfortable helmet...we use guns these days ya know!

  • well then obviously he'd be fucked if someone pulled a gun on him....ya KNOW!? Hence them being ceremonial guards.

  • @calisaetia they can use the sword you know and they are not just ceremonial guards but are there to protect.

  • not talking about the person talking about the equipment. the equipment is ceremonial. They could use the sword but like Tyb1985 said, what if someone had a gun. Either way i dont care tis is a ridiculous arguement. The guards look awesome in their uniforms, end of story.

  • You are exactly right, the equipment is purely ceremonial. I am an ex Household cavalryman myself, and i can comment that this side of the guards is ceremonial, HOWEVER, each of the soldiers you see on parade has also probably served with the operational side of the household cavalry that operate light armoured recce vehicles in combat in such places as Afghanistan and Iraq. Believe me these men are fighting soldiers, not actors, as you will see from the campaign medals many of them wear.
