  • When lift the clutch to change gear into second do you keep the clutch it in the batting point or a liitle bit higher?

  • @tnwafl

What do you mean by batting point?

  • Very informative. Thx!

  • when you break, you just push the clutch and shift to neutral and press the brake? When you accelerate you push down the clutch to shift to the next gear, but what about the gas pedal? do you have to release it before you press down the clutch?

  • @xUnSanity

    1. When you break, depending on your speed, you can simply press break without pressing clutch. This is done when your speed doesn't change too much. Say you are going downhill and want to maintain the constant rate of speed. But when you rapidly change your speed, there is a need to downshift (otherwise the car can stall). In this case you press both break and clutch pedals and switch to lower speed or neutral.

  • @xUnSanity

    2. Yes you have to release the gas pedal before you press clutch. When you press clutch, you disengage the engine from the wheels (same in neutral). You can rev the engine as much as you want but there won't be any power going to the wheels.

  • Nice camera and video, Vancouver represent!

  • i don't use the clutch between gears unless i'm in stop and go traffic

  • just one question. do i need to put the clutch when applying the brake?

  • @rladuddlr2

No, you only press clutch when you switch gears or come to a stop while the car is in gear. If you are coming to a stop in neutral speed, then you don't need to press the clutch.

  • @frostmusiccanada THanks a lot :)

  • Great tutorial!

  • NOW I UNDERSTAND BREAKING IN THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION......Thank you for your time.

  • @oneMoroccanslife

    No Problem

  • nice video and sick camera!

  • your accent is soooo sexy!!

  • For the reverse part, I was once told tht you have to even out the clutch and the gas to reverese properlly. Is this true or does it depend on the type of gravel your on?

  • @ajpeace12

When you reverse, the principle is the same as when you start moving in the first speed. You put your car in the reverse gear, slowly start to press the gas pedal, at the same time release the clutch. At some point the car will start to move. Then fully release the clutch pedal and keep pressing the gas. When you are coming to a stop press both the clutch and the break pedal.

  • In soviet russia the car...
