You will neeed to practice slower, with a normal sound in order tu learn the right notes and specially to play in tune.... but is positive that you do something with music. is not because is "electric" viola sound, that you can allow youself to play whatever, music from great composiers is to be respected. keep the good work!

Is that a violia? looks and sound more like a 5 strings violin. You would obtain a much more beautiful sound even with distortion if you plug the violin to your computer instead recording it with abad micro. Good work btw.

this song plus the distortion you get from an electiric instrument arent great, and Im sure you being young at the time means you didnt have much experiance, but with that being said, i have played bach peices before. mechanically they are a bit of work. I think it wasnt that bad. i like 0:43 - 0:45 in particular. and 1:25 was funny. good luck with viola if your still at it

I know this is an old vid of yours and I would like to see how you've improved since then.  I'm liking the fact you are trying to rock out on an electric viola, but the distortion was too high and your intonation was off in many parts. I also wish you would've put more dynamic variation to give more character and emotion to the piece. I'm hoping the three years since this video have given you time to improve on many fronts.

with the proper equiptment, an electric string instrument can actually sound quite beautiful, with no audible distortion.

however, this equiptment is VERY expensive, and serious players with that kind of money generally prefer to stick with the classic orchestral string instruents as opposed to electric.

I HATE THAT SOUND. but you are very very good at it! Try a real viola. That would sound very very nice. I HATE ELECTRIC VIOLAS, get a normal one! But i LOVE the look of the electric one :) Have you tried an electric carnchanto viola? They look a lot alike however, an electric carnchanto sounds even BETTER then a normal one. Its sound is very soft and sweet. Also you where not playing the rests in the song, play the rests,slow down,get normal viola and your a pro!

You know, Bach didn't write the Cello suites for cello because he thought they would sound the best on them. Maybe he had a friend who played cello who wanted some unaccompanied solos. I really like the sound of the Cello Suites on viola, personally. They sound great on cello, just like they should, but I really do like them, I think better, on viola. The viola is a beautiful and mellow instrument, just not when it is in electric form. Lol. =D
