Because they are by far the most accessable? I would say the best due to their popularity but I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to hardcore scooting. I just recently dusted off my old gen 1 scooter to ride around campus.

But back on topic a bit. I have seen no other scooters anywhere in the stores that weren't razor's or weren't junk. Micro was the big contender to razor but I haven't seen a micro scooter in years. Even in specialty shops all I see is razor.
