@katandann i can almost feel your pain as it pours through your letters about your feeling toward playing the keys of life AKA The Piano. give up not my friend keep going u shall learn of this great art
@katandann concentration and effort. to play this well it is not only the technique, it is also the ability to live through the song as you play. Mechanical pressing of the keys will not produce great sound. I am just judging from my experience, I have learnt "fur elise" recently, and I now am struggling to get the correct mood to play this song well.
wonderful...wonderful... lots of harmony... really good.. but in my opinion she is sometimes a little too fast. but every man feels this song different. so I accept it also
listening piano pieces in low sound quality is like you would admire Mona Lisa in black and white behind a dirty glass screen... it is such a pity that the sound is so altered by the background noise.
really top shelf on the rendition...i like that you slowed it down...and let that high note hang for a moment....im no pianist, but to me most interpretations blast through it like they have a train to catch...bravo!
it was a most fluent peace, i can play it now but it took 2 months to learn. i can understand the passion brought into beethoven's mind is he told his story of his one true love. Elise. xx
You can tell the passion by articulated this piece is. Every note seems to connect well and the dynamic level is there. It's like she takes care of each note indiviidualy and it some how comes all together like an art form.

@IMS0RAND0M The Maestro himself would be furious with you if he saw this comment. I humbly suggest that you explore his works for the piano further, assuming that you have not yet done so- you would be amazed. This is merely a small piece, I doubt if Beethoven himself ever remembered writing it. He would be pretty upset if people thought this was better than the great hammerklavier, appassionata, patetica, waldstein, moonlight or the concerti. Nevertheless, this is a enjoyable piece.
bezaubernd, sicherlich. aber da irgendwie jeder depp dieses stück auf klavier spielt und doch jeder depp es nicht KANN habe ich mir dieses stück irgendwann deutlich übergehört. :D
The piece has been kind of carelessly romanticised by the Japanese performer, lacking in authentic Beethovian spiri, which, in my humble opinion, is a bit disrespectful to the greatest Western classical pianist-composer ever.
@chiehwenwang wasn't beethoven german? i'm not sure now, but he was european, deffinately NOT western, which, is usually considered to be canada, america, and whatnot, also, beethoven composed much more than just piano music listen to one of his symphonies
@DylanA321 In dictionaries, the West means the Occident, meaning the countries of Europe and America. And a pianist-composer means a pianist and composer. :-)
@chiehwenwang ah, thanks for the tidbit of information, i really respect that you didn't like, lose ur head at me, and i missunderstood the last bit, my bad, but you can see where the confusion with the term "western" came from
@DylanA321 I don't usually "lose my head" at people, as I'm, to say the least, fairly patient and catholic, except that I would sometimes get upset when hearing classical music that is distastefully rendered. :-)
@chiehwenwang well, to be honest, i don't listen to classical music much, unless it's classic rock, but i do appreshiate good music when i hear it, i like this though, but the subtle undertones of her emotion in the music, i'm more of a guitar person to be honest
@DylanA321 It's a pity that you "don't listen to classical music much," as classical music is the paramount art of all music. Compared to it, any other music is, to say the least, mentally challenged. I suggest Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven, especially Beethoven, whose piano sonata music is greatly inspiring and worthy of listening, as it tells you who you really are inside.
@chiehwenwang To say that any music other than classical is mentally challenged is ridiculous. There are many types of music that rival classical music in many ways, just not pertaining to the same style. Try listening to Progressive music, the usage of time signatures and technicality of the instruments rivals that of classical and includes more than one instrument, thus making it more complex to write for than that of just a piano.
Yes classical music is amazing but get over yourself.
@BloodReverence Well, everyone to his taste. Your opinion has been heeded respectfully. However, allow me to humbly point out that "complex" is not the point here. Rather, the messages the music conveys are. :-)
@chiehwenwang By mentally challenged I assumed you meant that other music was not composed on par with classical music. The complexity of the piece and the writing.
My only question now is, how can a message be seen as "mentally challenged"? I do believe many modern songs push forth messages just as consistently and creatively as the classical music had in its day. I do believe classical music is much better than most music now though, but I do wish to hear an answer to that question.
@BloodReverence When I said "mentally challenged," I meant music other than classical one conveys much simpler, more intelligible messages, which most people can relate to, but the best of classical music conveys inspiring and abstract messages which cannot be expressed sufficiently with words, so, to receive the messages of the latter, you need to cultivate a remarkable intelligence above par. :-)

@AsphyxZero Its emotion. If you played piano for a year you would be swinging, no joke.

@AsphyxZero actually when its sophisticated piano, you look stupid if you just sit there all still. and the music wont sound good if your stiff.

@jozy09812 Technique-wise, it's a fairly simple song to play, but adding the correct emotion and your own style to it takes a lifetime to accomplish.

@SolarxWind That's what Beethoven was: passion, life. As you said, one hour to learn a lifetime to feel it.

Its too slow for my liking. I like the nice speed on the faster side with not a lot of alternating speeds. Just nice and smooth.

well this play is easy ... try Waltz no.7 Op.64 from Frederic Chopin for size ( still easy but as romantic as For elise )
