If they don't than try and civilly explain why you like it, and pick a song of Flyleaf's and read your parents the lyrics. Another question is are they Christian/other? Because there are a lot of Bible things you can use to argue your case. But remember that if they tell you explicitly not to listen to it, don't. It's hard but we are supposed to honor our parents.

I wish I could have a window with a beautiful view, but at this time, I can't afford that. There are many things that are leeching my attention, which distracts me from anything that is, beautiful. Many times I walk back from throwing away the trash, at night, and thinking "I wish I could give myself more time to look up at the stars."

I kind of understand what Kjs1324 is saying. To an extent.
