My confidence has increased thanks to your videos and emails so thank you for this. But I have a question about confidence. I tend to downplay everything (that is, if someone compliments me or say that something I have done is good, I say that whatever they complimented isn't really that great). Is this detrimental to my self confidence or is it better to be modest? Thanks for everything you have done for me, your advice is very useful and has helped me immensely.
Example I like this girl in my class.... And everytime I get this weird feeling in my head like a rush going through my mind.. I just cant my express my feelings for her it happens everytime when I talk to her. But then I noticed she a really close friend and its a guy as well and you know what they say "best friends fall in love" after I found out she has that really close relationship I just gave up :(.. IMO they do make a good couple though they are both smart and have things for each other..
Do you realise that what you're saying is basically that you just gave up before you even tried? What if she doesn't like her friend in that way? You could be missing out on something great.. for no real reason.
I think something that could help you is to try and get to know her more, but not necessarily aiming to this one goal to make her your girlfriend.. or forever be nothing to her. This doesn't have to be a black and white, succeed or fail situation. Your first
goal could be to simply try and get her to notice you, then say 'hi' when you see her, then get acquainted, then friends.. and every time you take that next step, give yourself a little pat in the back, allow it to help you gain confidence, and with time the whole thing should become easier.
And once you're friends with her, don't put up an act, be yourself around her. She may or may not like you 'like that', but if she does she will like you for you, shyness and all. ;)

I am a shy guy I have only had a few interactions with girls that I liked 1st was at work and we very gradually got to know each other and I eventually said I was a shy person and she responded the same way, and then we clicked. 2nd was an extremely outgoing girl in class, she knew I was shy but she got me to touch her leg forcibly and that made it worse, so I had to force my self to adapt which was very hard for me. so girls if you want a shy guy relate to them and take it slow or make the move
