Christopher Lee was famous when he played Scaramanga. Donald Pleasance turned up in loads of movies before and after You only live twice. He was in Escape from NY, THX 1138 and Halloween. Telly Savalas was known as Kojak and was in Kelly's heroes, after being Blofeld. Yaphet Kotto was in Alien, Midnight Run and Thomas Crown affair. you never knew he was a Bond villain? well, there's the proof you never saw anything prior to 2000. How do you expect to know about these actors then?

Robert Carlyle who played Renard was definitel famous before his Bond villain role.

Michael Lonsdale was in Ronin and Chariots of Fire (which one the best movie Oscar no less).

Sean Bean was a pretty bland Bond villain. Gert Fröbe was the best.

Scaramanga's Golden Gun can kill in one hit, no matter where you're shot. And yet, he still aims for the vital spots. I know it's a movie, but still.

Actually, no its not. The reason the Gun is reprsented as one shot kill is because he is so damn accurate. Thats why he aims for the vitals, because in reality, its not one shot kill. A bit trivia for ya!
