Why doesn't somebody from Boss explain each step of the RC-50 - every little button and choice possible?

The manual is clear is some ways but too complicated in others and not adequate enough (lacking information) in yet others.

I had a question ... for example, if you have phrases one and two going at the same time, how to do stop them and start phrase three simultaneously? Is there any way to do it? So far I've just been turning the volume knobs down for the first two and turning the third one up, but there's gotta be a better way. help.
