Are your hard corals built into the main rock, because I can't get mine to balance because they come with the rock they are on, does this sound weird but can you buy coral seeds that you just sprinkle in your tank then they with grow on the main rock?
Hi- Im replying for Stuart in this instance. With regards to mounting corals then if they are on very large rocks in will be best to remove them and remount. For SPS hard corals break them from the rock at the base and mount to your current aquascape using a reef putty such as D-D Aquascape. Prop the corals up whilst the putty hardens and the coral will grow and base out again. For soft corals cut them from the rock and anchor them into a new position using fishing line.
The soft coral will then start to base and grow in the new location. If there is any flesh left on the old rock leave it in the aquarium in good light and you should find it will regrow. You can also mount rocks plus corals using Aquascape putty but the large rocks will need propping into position untill the putty has harden, just make sure they are well seated and not balancing. Many of Stuart's sps corals were taken as fragments(frags) from other systems.
The small frags broken or cut off of mother colonies are usually only 3-4" and easily mount using Aquascape putty, any soft corals needs to be tied to the rock where they will attach and grow. This is the method that would be closest to seeding a tank with young corals. Corals such as Pocillipora sp do self propagate on occasion by dropping polyps when water quailty is correct but for the most part mounting frags is an enviromentally friendly way to stock coral.
It looks like you have your tank set up in basement. I want to set up my tank in basement as well cause my basement is very well lid, I set up my basement use florescent lights all over just like in a classroom. I don't know is it well lid enough for salt water fish tank and I will use regular light that comes with the tank. Any suggestion anyone. I used to have corals in my tanks and I had replace my lighting in my tank as suggested by pet shop or fish shop expert. But my corals dead wit
everyone is saying what an amazing tank this is and have no questions amazing!

What music is this? It sounds so familiar. It sounds like a Danny Elfman piece.
