@tunkunrunk That is partly true, we introduced them into an environment thats perfect for them, and even worse they have no natural predators here that are immune to thier poison.
A wonderful documentary. It is really more about humans than about toads. Those sweet mothers putting the toads into freezers or others gassing them so that they won't suffer remind us of some non too ecological episodes in last century's history. Really stunning!
This documentary is hilarious. I've seen this a few years ago. There's an Australian junkie in this documentary, who boils the freaking toad and drinks it! He says it's hallucinogenic like LSD
I'll tell ya what Australia should do, they should lift their ridiculous extreme regulations on importing and exporting animals and they should sell us cane toads as pets! Tons of peopel keep reptiles and amphibeans in North america and its catching on in europe too. We pay $60 here in pet stores for medium sized ones, and at the pet shows people regularly pay $200+ doallars each for the really big ones. I bet the problem would be solved quickly.
OWNED by Toads, mistake done by humans... and i thought the main problems for the people comes from dangerous spiders, snakes and other wild animals. Im glad to live in Germany, far away...
And then there's the cane toad: Not only will they regularly have sex with dead bodies, but they'll even make sweet love to corpses outside of their species. Not just different types of frog, mind you, but animals that in no way could ever be mistaken as a former cane toad
the cane toad is a firm believer in the "hole is a hole" attitude, and an even firmer believer in the "if there's no hole, just make one with your boner" attitude...
In the study of animals, there's something called Davian behavior, which is just the polite way Science says "animal necrophilia." But this behavior is often a mistake -- some dumb, horny animal not realizing that hot piece of tail is more lukewarm, and literally just a tail,
dr.bill freeman is not recognizing that he is killing the toads while he is stepping in the water, and some of the toads probably got choked by the net
I was able to find it in an educational video site a while back..Amazon might carry this as well. Great video, shown to AP Environmental Science students around the world...
oh man, i remember when i was little, tryin to kill as many as i could with my brothers, it was like a sport to us...I live in Queensland so they are everywhere...
OMG We watched this in freshman biology. Really informative, yet oddly amusing documentary. In addition to excellent information about the effect of cane toads on Australian ecology, it also gave us the impression that there were an awful lot of weird Australians :P Although to be fair Americans are just as weird, if not weirder.
Thanks for uploading this I was looking for it on DVD. I've heard that the indigenous Aussie wildlife are slowly learning which parts of the toad arent poisonous so they can be eaten which is some good news. bad news is their numbers just keep growing & growing & they've invaded northern NSW now. Man's stupidity!
It was briefly available on DVD, and my copy is taken from a VHS release so there are probably a few of those still kicking around. Try online auction sites.
Look everywhere else first, but if you cant find it legally anywhere or anybody to buy a copy off of, it's uploaded onto thepiratebay. You can download it off there for free
@AmeliaaMae DUDE i saw this in High school and still remember it! it was on VHS and i wanted to go back to see if i could keep the movie! hahahaha im so glad its up now!! i love the way they made this documentary! xD
ound a copy of this on VHS and it blew my mind! I was going to put it on youtube because it is so hilarious and weird, sooo glad to see you already did
this is SO weird! i lived with this girls' mom for a few weeks just outside of Atherton! She's super awesome and is a wildlife carer who takes care of Lumholtz tree kangaroos! Its weird cause there are posters of this girl and toads around the house! Invasives are a hard thing to deal with, and I'm still unsure on the ethics behind it
hahaha, i sow this in Environmental Class at Uni, man, it was a bit disturbing with the little girl playing with the toad. It is a huge problem considering it's killing allot of our wild life and disturbing the balance of the ecosystem.

Cane toads invading Australia...So fucking what?
Former free countries all over the world are slowly losing their freedom and individual rights due to increasing Police State and Big Brother activity, and yet, people still find time to obsess over things so natural and normal like Cane Toads. LOL! No wonder the world is fucked.
i fell asleep on this in ap environmental science & didnt answer a shit load of questions so lemme just say Thank You! lol
