Oh, no! Not the servants' quarters! That's kind of interesting because on my model it's opposite; I lived in the servants' quarters (I've moved out by now) so I modeled them first. I was able to measure everything, pretty much. I got permission from my landlord to measure the main house, too, but I also ran out of time, so I will have to model the kitchen, first floor bathroom, laundry room, and basement by memory.
Cool. Was this a freelance job or something? Did you use the original plans, or just photos, or did you have to take measurements? (Sorry this response is so late, I didn't realize you had commented back.)
I am a student, so this was for a school project. Also, I only used exterior photos and the building is not to its original scale. I even left off a wing of the building - the servants quarters. I would have loved to model them but I ran out of time.
Hey, that's pretty cool! I'm in the process of modeling my apartment, which is a Victorian house built by George Ginn. Did you model the inside of it, too?
Thanks for the comment. I only modeled the outside, due to time constraints, but the inside is amazing as well. The building is used as a museum to Mark Twain now, so the interior has been kept as authentic as possible.
