@ACFarmer89 Great video! I'm from middle Tennessee. I just bought a TR-85 about a week ago. Pretty good shape with both headers. I hope it does good when we start cuttin beans this year. Do you have any good pointers about the machine that may save me alot of work later?
@ethwes grease rotor bearings daily, just a partial squirt will keep them from plugging up. Clean the cab, and above the rotors out after harvest to keep mice out. I had mine for over 20 years, and over 200,000,000 lbs of grain through it, nice machine
ohh sorry, i thought one of your videos descriptions said something about iowa. yeah it must be the 2394. dont see a lot of these case tractors for sale. they must hold up good. i see more IH 86 series for sale. i need something around 150HP. i have a 1086 so i know how they can be a pain to get in and out of, but they're still a good tractor. The cases seem to be a easier shifting and more user friendly tractor. a magnum is out my price range. you have a very nice line of equipment! :)
the corn looks pretty clean. did you have any mold in it this fall from the wet cool weather? and how do you like the case tractors? i've been looking into getting a 2390/2396 or an IH 1486 or 5288. is there much difference between the 2390/2396 series? and where in iowa are you located? my girlfriend is from monticello.
They had some mold in one field because of the weather. Love the Case Tractors! I would recommend getting a 2390 or 2394(Just an updated version of the 2390). As for the 1486 you wouldn't like climbing in and out of. Can be a pain in the rear. And the 5288 i've never been in one. But i would stick to the 2390/2394. And i think you meant 2394, not 2396. And I am located in Bristolville,Ohio. Not Iowa.
@ACFarmer89 We use a 2590 Case. Great tractors for the money. We"ve only had 1 problem with it, a couple of the brake dics inside the rearend came apart, and contaminated the transmission oil. It took us a while 2 get it straitened out, but it has been dependable since.
@ACFarmer89 Big step up between the 90/94. Deffently a BIG confort upgrade. them 94 series are really confy tractors, and with the 23 you had a 6 speed PS too..
I farm up in saskatchewan canada with a TR 95, just curious, what motor goes into the tr 85(tr95 has 3208 cat)? Good tractor selection as well, I have a 2590 and a 1175
The vid says that day two was nov 22 and the vid posted nov 23 so i assumed you harvested for 2-3 days. Just commenting on machinery is very expensive to own and operate and when you use it, you run it hard to get the job done quickly but its only for a few days.
nice video, i run a TR96 with 6 row geringhoff rota disc, works pretty good, how many acres do you guys harvest?
skidoochaos 1 year ago
They only do around 100 acres corn, and around 300 acres soybeans. How many acres do you Harvest?
ACFarmer89 1 year ago
Oh ya, with the TR96 i do about the same for myself plus a couple hundred acres custom work
