Yo recientemente fui en Semana Santa y la verdad no siento que haya 'gastado' mucho dinero. Estuve en Los Cabos 3 días, pero lo que en verdad me enamoró es que tomé todo un tour por la bella Baja Sur que es muchisimo más que los Cabos... La Paz, Cd. Constitución, Loreto, Mulegé, Santa Rosalia, Guerrero Negro... Son lugares fantásticos que para mi que vivo en Puebla y me encanta la aventura se me hizo mágico: playas casi virgenes, contacto con la naturaleza, gente lugareña y extranjeros amables
@dmk693 Los Cabos is fairly wealthy and safe. I wouldn't discourage you from going. There are tons of other great destinations in Mexico and with a little research you can have an amazing & safe adventure.

But ofcourse be wise: dont travel with expensive things (jewelry, cameras, etc) and dont go off the beaten track, go only in hotel/airport taxis and dont trust anyone! Tourism feeds a lot of families, so if you stay in touristic areas youre safe. I lived there for some time, let me know if you want to go, I can give you some tips.

The wife and I just got back from Cabo. It was HOT & HUMID. Yuck! I don't mind heat, but the humidity made it unbearable. Besides that, we had a great time. We stayed at Riu Santa Fe. It's a beautiful resort, but it was pretty empty. The same was with the town. Hopefully this isn't the norm because it is a beautiful town and they can use the tourist dollars. We took tour down corridor and to Jose del Cabo. That's a nice town also. You should go if you have the chance!

Actually I wasn't telling people where to find it. We were offered blow and weed at least a dozen times while we were there and we were definitely not looking for it. I can't even imagine the drugs you could find if you were actually trying. Other than drink beer and margaritas I tried to stay out of trouble. I think Mexico is a beautiful country and I would love to go back. I would also invite you to come visit the United States and enjoy our many treasures as well.

For climbing to the top of Yonaha-Dake in Okinawa was very cool. It's the highest point on the island. Almost nobody goes there, so it felt like a true adventure.
What would I recommend to others? Probably the Peruvian Rain Forest via Iquitos. It is the largest city in the world that is completely landlocked, but can't be reached via car. 400,000 people have to either take a boat or plain to leave the city. All roads deadend into the jungle.

The whole culture in Los Cabos is based on tourism and if they can't treat the tourists with respect, then they don't deserve our visits. Just think about how much money this guy wouldn't have if tourists stopped going to Cabo San Lucas. There are places to travel.

For climbing to the top of Yonaha-Dake in Okinawa was very cool. It's the highest point on the island. Almost nobody goes there, so it felt like a true adventure.
What would I recommend to others? Probably the Peruvian Rain Forest via Iquitos. It is the largest city in the world that is completely landlocked, but can't be reached via car. 400,000 people have to either take a boat or plain to leave the city. All roads deadend into the jungle.

Lying and stealing are not acceptable business practices no matter what country, culture or economic circumstance you are in. Allowing them to keep the money, no matter how much it is, just encourages this awful sort of behavior. The whole culture in Los Cabos is based on tourism and if they can't treat the tourists with respect, then they don't deserve our visits. Just think about how much money this guy wouldn't have if tourists stopped going to Cabo San Lucas. There are places to travel.
