@MrLGDef I don't believe that any of the PowerPro notebooks can be customized with an AMD card. nVidia has better driver updates anyway. I heard of bad experiences with AMD driver updates.
@funnyeehn Ow. well im waiting for the asus g75. and samsung 7 series gamer in may. what do u think of samsung 7series gamer 2012? im not sure how good they are because i never see any samsung gaming notebooks o0
@Syakir2004 I looked at the Samsung specs and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It will have some pzaz and will have a slightly better AMD graphics card, but it's another $500. If I was to spend that much more, I would just get the GTX 580 upgrade for the PowerPro. But that's just my opinion.
I'm 15 and I been really wanting a gaming laptop to play the new upcoming mmorpgs. Cause right now I have no computer.. Haven't had one in about a year now and I really need it!! It looks affordable.
Took a little longer than expected to get this /gPPRYmfOos0up. I loaded all the programs on the Power Pro R 12:17 to produce this first video. The machine handled the HD fine, However it took almost 4 hours to upload to Tube. Should have part 2 up tomorrow and gave you a shout out for your tutorial here in the last part of the video..
Little late in getting a video together, it's been Crazy up here in Alaska with the weather and have not had much time to to devote to this. I will say this 2 SSD in Raid 0 is sweet.
For those considering a new laptop,PowerPro is the way to go. I had all the "Bells & Whistles" put on mine. Most company's say 2 weeks build time. They confirmed my Wire Transfer on the 27th and was here in Alaska on the 1st. It was built right as well. With no pproblems at all.
Just got the email that mine is on it's way. I have over 3K in mine with all the options. I will be doing a full unboxing, Review, as well as benchmarking my set up with 2 SSD in RAID 0.
This was a nice little Vid on the unboxing but sure would have liked to seen more. So, what heck I'll put one up here this weekend
@digicom666 3K?! Wow, yours is gonna kick my laptop's butt! Looks like I need to make some more videos so we can see the difference between yours with upgrades and mine without. I've just been so busy lately... but very cool man!
Wait, what. I was just looking at buying this laptop (hence why I'm watching this video). I didn't know it was a 780 barebones.. You say it doesn't include the backlit keyboard, but have they changed that? On their website it says that "Backlit Steelseries Keyboard" is now available with it. Either it's an external bonus or they updated it...
@TheK3ro The Steelseries keyboard is an extra. I have heard mixed reviews about it just FYI. So that might matter given that it isn't exactly cheap...
@nicknachos1 Well it depends on what your price range is. And concerning viruses, every Windows laptops is equally susceptible. Just get a good Anti-Virus software and don't visit sketchy sites (i.e. porn).
@funnyeehn Actually I have that exact same question. My price range is around 5-700 dollars maximum. The $700 idea is only if the laptop is REALLY worth it for me.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 To be honest, $700 is not a lot of money when it comes to buying a high-end gaming laptop. Here are a couple of suggestions. Mind you, they will not be the best and greatest. Take a look at the PowerPro J 5:15 Gaming Laptop and the Sager NP3250. They're both in the $700 range.
@funnyeehn Thanks! But at this point, I'm stuck between the Power Pro in the video and the Alienware M11x or M14x. I know I said that I'm in the $700 range, but after careful consideration, I'm gonna see if I can buy one of those laptops.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 I would go with PowerPro. Better resolution, better video card, and better customer service. Up to you, but that would be my choice.
AND the Built-in Steelseries Backlit Keyboard - 24 Programmable Color Variations + Kinzu Gaming Mouse is no need for it right ???!!!! sorry for make it to long because iam very confused and you are the only one maybe in youtube have the laptop thanks yours WALEED
@theblacksmith93 Wow, haha. To be honest, I suggest calling Power Notebooks and talking to Donald. He'll be honest with you on whether you need the upgrades, but I'll add my input as well.
1) I think Matte should be fine. Matte has less glare, but less vibrant of colors.
2) Go for it if you have the money. It won't hurt ya. Ask Donald if the upgrade is that big of deal. If you don't NEED it then you might save some money.
3) It seems well-built so far. I go into a couple of little things in a below comment.
4) The charge is small since it is a beatly, desktop replacement. On low battery, maybe 3 hours...
5) They'll give you the drivers without windows
6) I've heard mixed reviews about the keyboard. I think laptops should have lighted keyboards, but I dunno how good it is. If you don't have a gaming mouse, get one. Look around for pricing.
hey i am looking to buy a hardcore gaming laptop (desktop replacement) but i cant decide between buying the sager clevo NP7280 or the alienware M18x . and choosing between the ATI 6990m or Nvidia 580m. please respond soon. any help would be apreaciated.
@ShingenTakedaa Hey buddy. Man I envy you. I wish I could get a 580M! Anyway, both of the cards are awesome, but I believe that the 580m has a performance advantage to the 6990m. If you're looking into an Alienware, one warning... Dell customer support. I hear that when Alienwares arrive and if they're defective, it is an absolute nightmare to get fixed. Personally, I would find a laptop with the 580m that is not Alienware or just get the Sager. But that is just me. Hope that helps.
@funnyeehn Thanks i have looked around and only one other laptop have the Nvidia SLI configuration and its price is close to the worth of your laptop!!! l ($1100) but anyways looks like i am going to take my chances with alienware. and by the way good work with the video. you should make more gaming laptop related videos. thanks again buddy.
@rafibros I addressed the laptop problems question below. And I also answered the BF question. With my settings I CANNOT play on max settings. I play with a mixture of Ultra/High. So if you wanna max out, you're gonna have to spend a good deal more I assume...
@tasol100 A couple, but I wouldn't call them deal breakers. 1) When I have a headset plugged in, for some reason my laptop's speakers let out some distorted noise when I first begin some audio (like videos). Not sure why... 2) The software used on this laptop for touch buttons and so forth is known as the S-Bar and if your OCD, the star remains on your desktop and never goes away 3) You might want to get the unstuck pixel package cause mine came with a stuck pixel (which is not uncommon).
@lxXJAISXxl Barebone means that this model is the stock model that has not been outfitted with all of the doodads and software that, in this case, MSI would put on. In other words, this is the exact same laptop, but without MSI's logos, casing, and software.
@DODmayhem Haha. I know. Saying "only $1,400" sounds ridiculous. But the reason I say that is because if you do some research on similar items and prices, you begin to realize that this is a bargain concerning stock hardware. Context wise, it makes sense to say "only $1,400."
i have a gateway mx 3230 and my laptop is going fast but i have a celeron intel inside my graphic card is bad and i need to know how to update it with out buying canyou give me steps by step when i play a game called maplestory it takes forever to load please ill be happy if you replied
Indeed, I agree with you...idk why I thought the gentech(actually exact same laptop guys fyi) is a better deal.. pretty much the same price range, im getting mine from gentech though, the 750 gb 7200 rpm hardrive is a good deal at gentech. I think, might have changed now though. All the same, gentech or powerpro version still great deals I think over the msi branded.
i got a question. my computer is an acer with intel ''core i3 inside''
4 gb ram
nvdia geforce 420m ''
windows 7 home premium, but.. its shit at gaming, i bought it on october.
so its not old.
and everytime i try to update my nvidia drivers, it doesnt let me, it says its not compatible with the drivers. but i got the drivers needed ! i need to be on the lowest settings, and that should happen. right?
@SuperMarvin37 Well you have a decent graphics card. I had a 9800GS (which is not as good) and that was able to game on medium/high graphics. BUT, I had an i5 processor with 4GB of ram. Your i3 may not cut it. If you can't download the regular mainstream Nvidia driver, perhaps try to download the newest Beta or WHQL version of the driver. That's about all I can suggest. If that doesn't work, contact Acer and see if they have any suggestions. I'm also assuming that your Windows 7 is 64 bit.
@joshuaox8 It depends. Alienware has different laptops. Generally their laptops have better hardware, but cost more. With this laptop you get more bang for your buck.
Just out of curiosity, would any of you be interested if I was to do video reviews of games in the future? Either PC or both PC/Cross Platform games? Also, is there anything else that you guys would want me to do video wise and that I could do (ex: I couldn't do reviews on a bunch of laptops cause I don't get any haha).
@noreaga2001 This laptop can play BF3 with both Ultra and High Settings. Unfortunately, this laptop cannot max out the graphics. But, you could dish out another $400 to upgrade to the 580, then you would be set!
Im going to get this laptop but in april. so i have one question, do you think power notebooks will lower the price before april? because i wanted to get the backlit keyboard with this pc. P.s. make some gameplay videos if you have time because i already watched the powerinc's one and so far your the only one i know with this pc. thanks
@famous42591 I think that there is a good chance that the price will go down by April. Since technology is moving so quickly, I wouldn't be surprised if there would be a better laptop for the same price as this one is now. Of course, I cannot guarantee anything. I'm no retailer.
Actually, all of the videos on the Power Notebooks youtube channel were made by yours truly. I'm planning to upload the videos on my channel.
this is a stupid question but.... can it handle Star Wars: The Old republic? Minimum requirements: CPU: obviously passes; Video: ATI X1800 or better*/ Nvidia 7800 or better*/ intel 4100 or better*.
@KeMoZah537 You shouldn't have any problem running The Old Republic. : ) If I wasn't so cheap and if I had the time, I would totally get it too. Haha.
gentech has the same bare-bones for around the same price. The powerpro gives you the option to add the backlit keyboard....also powerpro is offering the 580m upgrade on their barebones now...the price for that gpu is ridiculousness i think...$399.00....WHAT!!!!!.
@lorenzo5300 Normally it doesn't, but when you turn up the fans it can get pretty loud. But what gnarly gaming rig doesn't get loud with blasting fans? Haha.
I gave your Asus right now! It sucks so bad...that damn gtfo 9800 is garbage...and it's always been even 2-3 year's ago when the g50vt was new...funny I'm actually getting this one here soon : ]
@yungcity Well enjoy the upgrade! And I'm sorry your ASUS didn't treat you as well. Even though it wasn't top of the line, I was able to play games on high graphics for ~ 2 years and I never had any huge issues. So as far as a mid gaming laptop, I enjoyed my G50-VT.
@funnyeehn indeed it does, I can still play some games at pretty high...like just cause 2 runs pretty well, and i agree..its actually built like a tank, I dropped it twice at waste height and it still runs just like the day i bought it . thanks for the review man, well appreciated.
@funnyeehn hi I purchased this laptop and i have loved the performance so far, but when i am playing shogun 2 total war the campaign make will to start to glitch in some areas of the campaign map. straight lines moving all over a chunk of area on the map it is really affecting my gaming experiance any ideas?
@GoFlamesGo100 My suggestions are basic, but maybe one of them will do it for you. Well I know that my gameplay can get messed up when I play too long, so I make sure to quit the game every once and awhile. I would also make sure that your video driver is up-to-date. MSI is really lagging, which means you'll need to go directly to the Nividia website. Make sure you have the 285.62 video driver (or the 290 beta driver). Finally, reinstall if neither of those do it. I hope you get it fixed!
@funnyeehn i did what you said i updated the drivers, reinstalled the game, even reinstalled it online using steam, and the lines still appear. The only way they go away is if i play in direct x 9 but id rather just get it repaired and play in direct x 11. My question is should i buy a new copy of the game or just get my computer repaired?
@GoFlamesGo100 Does this happen with other games as well? I assume if you updated drivers and reinstalled the game then it's a hardware problem. If you bought it through Power Notebooks then you have a one year warranty. I would speak to them about the issue. Then if you need to, you can send it to them and hopefully they'll be able to fix it. Sorry man. That's the worst...
@funnyeehn well fortunatley it only happens with shogun 2 but i think i will still send it in and i got it from xotic pc but i believe they also they have the one year warranty
@GoFlamesGo100 Unlike my old ASUS (seen in the video) this laptop is incredibly cool. Most importantly, the palm rests below the keyboard have never felt hot to the touch, which means comfortable gaming. And concerning the internal fans, the air that is pushed out is pretty warm, but not ridiculously hot. Given this powerhouse, I'm surprised that it isn't hotter. So in conclusion, a very cool laptop concerning temperature... and looks! Haha.
Is it the best gaming laptop? Hm, unfortunately not. BUT, for the price range it most definitely is given what you get. The best gaming laptop is well over $2,000 dollars. More than I have to spend. Haha.
Well when it comes to BEST, I can only base my opinion off of internal components (i.e. Alienware is known to have technical issues right out of the box). But yes, I would say the "best" gaming laptops would have to be Sager and Alienware. Their top products are both over $4,000. I customized a Sager with all of the bells and whistles and the final price was $5,400!!! But of course, everything in it was the best money could buy.
ASUS makes sturdy, long lasting laptops that have good specs, but not amazing specs like Sager and Alienware. But I owned an ASUS gaming laptop for over two years with NO problems. Great machines no doubt and in contrast, much more affordable.
he looks gay.

P.s. make some gameplay videos if you have time because i already watched the powerinc's one and so far your the only one i know with this pc. thanks
famous42591 2 months ago

KeMoZah537 2 months ago
@KeMoZah537 You shouldn't have any problem running The Old Republic. : ) If I wasn't so cheap and if I had the time, I would totally get it too. Haha.
funnyeehn 2 months ago
gentech has the same bare-bones for around the same price. The powerpro gives you the option to add the backlit keyboard....also powerpro is offering the 580m upgrade on their barebones now...the price for that gpu is ridiculousness i think...$399.00....WHAT!!!!!.
yungcity 2 months ago
@yungcity That's awesome. If they would have had the 580 upgrade back when I got mine, I probably would have dished the $400.

how quiet is the laptop? i hope it dosent sound like a dust buster
lorenzo5300 2 months ago
@lorenzo5300 Normally it doesn't, but when you turn up the fans it can get pretty loud. But what gnarly gaming rig doesn't get loud with blasting fans? Haha.

I gave your Asus right now! It sucks so bad...that damn gtfo 9800 is garbage...and it's always been even 2-3 year's ago when the g50vt was new...funny I'm actually getting this one here soon : ]
yungcity 2 months ago
@yungcity Well enjoy the upgrade! And I'm sorry your ASUS didn't treat you as well. Even though it wasn't top of the line, I was able to play games on high graphics for ~ 2 years and I never had any huge issues. So as far as a mid gaming laptop, I enjoyed my G50-VT.
funnyeehn 2 months ago
@funnyeehn indeed it does, I can still play some games at pretty high...like just cause 2 runs pretty well, and i agree..its actually built like a tank, I dropped it twice at waste height and it still runs just like the day i bought it . thanks for the review man, well appreciated.

@funnyeehn hi I purchased this laptop and i have loved the performance so far, but when i am playing shogun 2 total war the campaign make will to start to glitch in some areas of the campaign map. straight lines moving all over a chunk of area on the map it is really affecting my gaming experiance any ideas?
GoFlamesGo100 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos
@GoFlamesGo100 My suggestions are basic, but maybe one of them will do it for you. Well I know that my gameplay can get messed up when I play too long, so I make sure to quit the game every once and awhile. I would also make sure that your video driver is up-to-date. MSI is really lagging, which means you'll need to go directly to the Nividia website. Make sure you have the 285.62 video driver (or the 290 beta driver). Finally, reinstall if neither of those do it. I hope you get it fixed!
funnyeehn 2 months ago
@funnyeehn i did what you said i updated the drivers, reinstalled the game, even reinstalled it online using steam, and the lines still appear. The only way they go away is if i play in direct x 9 but id rather just get it repaired and play in direct x 11. My question is should i buy a new copy of the game or just get my computer repaired?
GoFlamesGo100 2 months ago
@GoFlamesGo100 Does this happen with other games as well? I assume if you updated drivers and reinstalled the game then it's a hardware problem. If you bought it through Power Notebooks then you have a one year warranty. I would speak to them about the issue. Then if you need to, you can send it to them and hopefully they'll be able to fix it. Sorry man. That's the worst...
funnyeehn 2 months ago
@funnyeehn well fortunatley it only happens with shogun 2 but i think i will still send it in and i got it from xotic pc but i believe they also they have the one year warranty

when the laptop is gaming does it get very hot?
GoFlamesGo100 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos
@GoFlamesGo100 Unlike my old ASUS (seen in the video) this laptop is incredibly cool. Most importantly, the palm rests below the keyboard have never felt hot to the touch, which means comfortable gaming. And concerning the internal fans, the air that is pushed out is pretty warm, but not ridiculously hot. Given this powerhouse, I'm surprised that it isn't hotter. So in conclusion, a very cool laptop concerning temperature... and looks! Haha.

is it the Best Gaming Laptops
johnnydrack1 3 months ago
@johnnydrack1
Is it the best gaming laptop? Hm, unfortunately not. BUT, for the price range it most definitely is given what you get. The best gaming laptop is well over $2,000 dollars. More than I have to spend. Haha.
funnyeehn 3 months ago
@funnyeehn let me guess the alienware or asus one of does is the best gaming laptop
johnnydrack1 3 months ago
@johnnydrack1
But of course, everything in it was the best money could buy.
funnyeehn 3 months ago
@funnyeehn woow tht alot of money just for a laptop
johnnydrack1 3 months ago
@johnnydrack1
ASUS makes sturdy, long lasting laptops that have good specs, but not amazing specs like Sager and Alienware. But I owned an ASUS gaming laptop for over two years with NO problems. Great machines no doubt and in contrast, much more affordable.
