ok... i get it, just turning ignition off and on while engine breaking, but what for? what do u mean when saying 'myth busted' could you make it clear? cheers

are ur car is stick or auto? if I drive stick I'll simply leaving current gear either 3 or 4 while downhill and my foot will just hit the brake a bit by certain rpm, I only hit the clutch when downshifting. been doing this while going down hill in a motorcycle

i own a 2001 vectra-B 2.6L V6 and never had that problem. lol and i would have thought there would be a bit of a jolt each time u turned on the ignition

I had exact the same problem with my vectra. I had no electricity at all while driving.

It turned out to be a broken alternator. It's common with vectra-b's.
