I think the vocals are great but John mentioned to this day he can't listen to the recorded vocals. He requested the recording of new vocals shortly after recording but by the time he asked it was too late.

It's not about who did the better version. Black Sabbath is the most influential metal band in history, whose legacy if far beyond any other bands. That's just a fact. And into the void is one of Sabbaths best songs ever.

Kyuss is not even close to Black Sabbath. Everybody with just a little common sense will know that. However - This tribute is played with respect to the original, and with just the right touch so everybody knows that this is Kyuss playing.

find the tone is not that terrible.

@VincentL7 I've listened to it dude... the tone of the Exhorder version sounds like he left a wah pedal cocked open halfway. Way too much treble; there's no balls in it. Josh Homme played his guitar through a bass amp in Kyuss, and it sounds fuckin' awesome. Along with Scott Reeder's heavy bass tone, it makes this one of the heaviest versions. Heavy is in the delivery (and the bass), not in the distortion.

not in the bass alone, but in the slow, deep, and gradual conclusion delivery

of the riffs, and that's precisely what characterizes doom metal as the heaviest

of them all, therein lie REAL balls dude, if you know what I mean.
