I animate very similar to you excepy for one thing. I draw my animated parts in a seperate paint window then paste them onto the background. It has the same effect that your animation has but I find having a black background while editing easier and cleaner to work with.

Anyway, very nice tutorial. I approve. :D

Anywho, I used that technique before, but I was always so uncertain of where the previous frame had been placed on the background...

But yes, the background can be damaged when using the one I'm using.

I believe it'll work with any program, since I'm using such basic tools, like brush and paintbucket.

You need SOMETHING to make a picture(or gif) into a movie. But it shouldn't be a problem, since I believe all comps have Windows MovieMaker, possibly without knowing it. Save for Mac, I guess.

I did something similar back when i was using a pc. i would use paint and windows movie maker. that is how i made my 'poli numa numa' video.

i use a mac now and am trying to figure out how to make videos with this thing...

Hey, have you ever tried OpenCanvas? You can get the 1.1 version for free, and it has layering. =) I use it, but I haven't made anything yet...XP I never bothered to make a youtube account until now because I found this important. ._. Well anyways....
