The first time I heard this Dethier work was on a Christmas Album by none other than Virgil Fox. I bought the album way back in the 70s. The organ was a 95 rank Moller, St Paul The Apostle Church in NYC . He recorded the album a week or so prior to his dedicatory concert on the instrument. Aram does it great justice here!
I had not heard Dethier's Variations on "Adeste Fideles". This was a truly amazing experience. Basmadjian gave a virtuoso performance and truly explored the awesome depth of sound colors available on this exciting Allen organ. Thank you for posting.
Has Allen ever considered a scholarship program to supply an Allen Organ to a student? I know something like that would be a miracle for me to have. My own practice instrument is starting to have a few issues (tube powered).
I very much enjoyed this video. The performers seen in the last few Christmas videos uploaded by Allen have just been so fantastic, and the organs have a lot to showcase as well! Thanks for sharing.
Bravo! Wonderfully played and registered. You really made the Allen Sing! This is the first time I have heard any Allen in Octave Hall with a really big registration!
