I got this game for playstation 2. I can not play it for anything! I played the original on Dreamcast and did okay.... I know I am staying in rhythm and hitting the right button. Had 3 of my friends over and they did even worse than I did (my GF didn't get a single move right!).

I am playing it on the older 60 gig Playstation 3 with Ps2 support. Is it maybe something to do with the controller or way it is played on the Playstation 3 ?

@jimbox114 I have a similar setup and have the same problem. I don't believe it is a problem with the PS3, but a problem with HDTVs. The audio and video of most, if not all of the older music games are slightly out of sync on the new flat screen TVs. The only exception seems to be computer monitors (and possibly the newest flat screens), because I hooked my PS3 to my monitor with an HDMI input and played this game and it worked flawlessly.

@JonnytheAwesomeGuy to get the Steam version to save, I had to create a folder in my documents named "SEGA" inside which I had to create another folder called "Space Channel 5 Part 2" and I had to copy the configuration file (not the configuration application) from inside Space Channel 5 Part 2's Steam folder and paste it there. Afterward, it miraculously fixed save and controller issues, and when I edited the configuration file, I changed fullscreen to =1 which gave me fullscreen.
