my gosh i had an f5 tornado while i was sleeping man it was night where i was my family i were sleeping so was my edog he was downstars sleeping on the couch when i hear load wsting noises i got up went to my wnidoew i was like yolllyy crapp aa torndo! i woke up my family then woke up my dog then we all went down to the basment we keep the computer down there we just stayed in there till it ended we could hear it twearing up stuff upstares + i saw strickes of the thunger boy was i scared man lol
missmelissa12345 is right. I've been a storm chaser for almost 12 years now, and that is unmistakebly a wall cloud that spawned a tornado, not the actual tornado.
its possible thats just the supercell cloud and you actualy arent seeing the tornado itself, the clouds that make tornadoes usualy dip down pretty low in the center and the tornado(es) come out of the bottom of that
Correct. This is NOT the actual tornado itself. You are actually looking at the violently rotating wall cloud that produced the tornado. The remainder of the shot shows the mesocylone very well organized, and rotating nicely. Nice clip.
where did you film this from? It looks like Cordova or Arlington. I watched the Hickory Hill twister from my office off of 78 and and didnt look like this one. just curious.
What area was this? I was live in Bartlett near Raleigh and it got like, super dark over where I was, and it suddenly got all hot so we thought it was about to hit our area but it didn't.
was it really that quiet when you recorded that? Usually you hear a roaring sound with tornado's but I also know sometimes it can be really super still and quiet before one hits...but this one was already on the ground. creepy how quiet it was..no wind, no rain..weird.
97 graduate here from Houston High...I also lived in Halle Plantation, though not for that tornado. I moved there about two months after...Gallina Circle! :)
is that a f5 twister

The silence in this video is almost as scary as the noise that the storms produce....

Lucky it was not closer to your area. That is a big one, was anyone killed from it.

Durn, pretty large for a EF2!
BeechSundowner 4 years ago
size doesn't matter... it's all about velocity and the damage done when rating them.

I have heard that the F4s and F5s (now EF4's and EF5's) are not always the big fat ones that may be over 1000 yards wide.
ILovestorms 3 years ago 4
The largest tornado ever seen happened in 2004. It was 2.5 miles wide, but it was only an F4 (back before the EF scale).
Cchrisbud813 3 years ago 2
no me gustaría estar cerca de ahí
nenekiche 4 years ago
we had an F4 here in Hardin County TN. It was about the size of that one, it was aboslutely HUGE.I'm a volunteer firefighter and we had 3 fatalities.
