You should really try to buzz with your corners aswell, that builds the muscles which makes high playing better - aka without hammering on the pressure on the top lip, which (believe me) leads to bruising.

Maybe your valves are in wrongly? Have you oiled the valves and put in the valves wrongly? If yours is a Yamaha, then align the numbers with the mouthpiece (:

nice lesson bought a cheap trompet and I got some false notes out of it but internet will make me better I think =)

I have been playing trumpet for 4 years now and I have been experiencing an expanding throat when I play, which I know isn't supposed to happen. I can hit all the notes I need to hit now like high C's and D's, but I get worn out easily and the sound I have isn't as clean as it could be and I know in the future it won't be acceptable. What do you recommend I do to correct this problem?

the trumpet isn't messed up, I have been playing trumpet going on 4 years, its the way you buzz....to make a higher sound squeeze your lips tighter together but make sure your ends of your lips are tight as well.....and to make a lower note loosen your lips
