No disrespect to Beyonce, Gaga et al, but I'll keep listening to 'my generation' of music from ALL genres thank you, because popular music just doesn't get better than it was back then. Steve Perry was the male 'voice of steel', and Oleta is the female counterpart - incredible tone, range and controlled power, just incredible.

A low alto voice with gospel shadings just sends my spirit skyward! Both Oleta's sacred and secular music is so HONEST, it just wipes away all the crap from your soul and make you feel new.

I am not religious AT ALL, but Oleta's singing makes a VERY strong case for the existence of God!

The original video is on the Scenes from the Big Chair where Roland sings sitting on a chair. But if you want this live concert in Santa Barbara (1990) you need the Going to California dvd. However, the vhs is still the best version and you can get it converted to dvd, if you want.
