Scanning the comments no-one seems to have come up with quite the right answer...Mobius strips are notable because they have the unusual property of only having one side. What happens when you cut a mobius strip down the middle? You end up with a longer, skinnier mobius strip, still with only one side. Wind and her dog will be able to find each other if they just go for a little walk :) An excellent video by the way!!

Spoilers! Did anyone figure out that when Wind and her dog are reunited, the dog will be upside down, and she will be able to pass through it? It will practically be a ghost (always in the other dimention/ the other side of the strip)! Freaky, isn't it?

@rashikirilova Well a mobius strip only has one side, so if she walks half the way round it, she'll find her dog the right way round again. She already possessed the ability to walk through it before her world split in half.

@quinterbeck Yep, she did, but after the split, you actually get a strip with two twists (not a Möbius strip, contrary to what @doomed2obscurity says), hence two separate sides. You can try it - I wasn't sure, so I actually drew Wind and the dog on the Möbius strip, split it and tracked Wind's movement. It was fun :)
