I LOVE this sketch! I watched the beginning of one episode of 'The Kardashians' where Kim is walking down the street and happens on a stray chihuahua. I said OMG, Really! A chihuahua just HAPPENS to be walking by right now with all the lights, crew and director here? This isn't a reality show, it's a bad, scripted sitcom! The only few mins of that show I've ever watched.
@garethkielty Well its just cheep crap to fill in the space between an okish movie and the news, I should have just bought a cook book instead of a television.
I loved when Barry poked Webb in the arm. I find that socially awkward people love doing that, just poke people to get their attention, as opposed to say, touching their arm or shoulder or w/e, Good attention to detail.
@crazedmongoose2003 I don't think they 'love' doing that.. I think they find it incredibly stressful and only do it after repeated failed attempts at attracting attention by speaking (often very softly/timidly).
"let's hear what barry thought of the food after we'd gone." "you're still here." damn barry's slow! this show's one of the funniest british comedy acts of the past ten years!!
There's been in change in the way these kind of shows are directed. It's become a fad these days to show the camera crew and equipment when transitioning to one scene from another. Very post-modern and Dogme95.
I notice it's almost exclusively kind of awkward and neurotic people who poke others to get attention, as opposed to say other physical notifiers (pat on back or gently touch on shoulder or w/e)
lol I always think about this at the end of these shows where you watch the car drive away while the family stands and waves. I always imagine them having to drive around the corner then turn around and pick up the camera man and then actually say goodbye.
Why do they act like they just got to the house when there is obviously a camera already inside the house behind the guy who opens the door?
I even saw this on Oprah once where they had to act surprised that Oprah came over to their house... problem was there were already like 10 different camera shots inside the house before Oprah showed up!
@danmoore5000 the survival shows are even worse. there's a shot in a show called Dual Survivors where they're looking down a huge ice cliff, wondering how they're going to get down. They spend 15 minutes afterwards trying to find a way down. But when they were first showing the cliff, in order to dramatize the drop, they took a shot from the bottom of it, looking up at the survivors!! It seems the CAMERAMAN got down there easily enough!
@danmoore5000 Are you talking about the episode with the guy and his wife living in the fancy 2 storey apartment? because I thought of that exact episode as soon as saw what this video was about.
LMAO!
