@tetitator Thanks for your help, Little Eli (as my mam named him, haha) is fine :) Bouncing around on his first week, he was nine weeks tuesday, and has been here a week yesterday. He has already got the hang of where his food is and stands by the back door when he needs to hae a wee or a poo. Had his first toilet in the rain, haha :)

Do you think just saying no and putting them in the garden/outside would help?? Reserved a sweet White and Lemon chihuahua puppy for 650, he's only 5 weeks old so 3 weeks to wait :) I want him now but understand that the darling will need it's mother ;) any tips or advice? First dog ever -3 oh and name ideas?

Oh yea!! My best tip is to make sure you socialize your puppy well, and early on. By that, I mean make sure you frequently expose him/her to ALL kinds of sights, sounds, people, and places. This will teach the puppy to not be scared of new people or experiences, and that will greatly limit yapping. Also, just be patient. Puppies have teeny tiny bladders. Don't yell or spank them if they wet on the floor. They can't help it, and don't know any better. Just take them out often.

Also, create a small space for them that confines them from the rest of the house. This keeps them, and makes them feel, safe. Keep it simple: 1-2 blankets, newspaper, water, food. Put them in this "crated" area at night and when you are not home.

One more tip: get a bottle of honey just for the pup. They get low blood sugar often, so literally squirt honey in their mouth several times a day. I gave it to mine after pottying as a treat. :)

@funnybee98 - Well, they aren't hard to take care of, but they do need lot's of attention everyday. You need to start training them the first day you him/her. And my best advice is to create a routine that is easy for you, but also healthy for the puppy and stick to it everyday. They really thrive off of routine. Oh, and NEVER let them sleep with you in the bed at night...WAY to dangerous for them.

Boomer turned out just fine...in fact his personality is much more well-rounded than Bandit. We got Bandit at 13 weeks, and I feel like by that age, he had lost a lot of good bonding time with humans. Bandit still has severe anxiety issues with other people.

It was scary, though, at first to have such a tiny little puppy. We never took our eyes off the ground.

The smaller they are bred, the more likely they are to have health issues like seizures, and you have to ALWAYS look down when walking around the house, but other than that, they are super easy and lovable dogs to have. Oh, and make sure you socialize them, in a supervised and cautious manner, to other dogs and other people when they are little, so they don't become yappy and "vicious" to others.

Yes, I have one same breed, everytime I walk or close the door, I must make sure he is not behind me. My Chihuahua sleep with us on the same bed and always sleep on my pillow, my hubby ever once accidently kick him down on the bed but soon he get used our sleeping "pattern" and he can find his small corner and if you don't allow him to sleep on our bed, OMG, he will buck the whole night until he gets what he wants.
