@ClanbRaH I remember seeing him when I was just nine years old at Giant Stadium in New Jersey. I will never ever forget the experience. He was just incredible.
It wasnt just the power and quality of voice, it was the character it had. You can feel the emotion and pain, even without the video. This was one of the things that made him such a great singer
Even for someone like me who is not used to listen to opera... it is impossible to enclose oneself from the beauty of the lyrics, the music and the way it is delivered here. I am absolutely speechless... and remain in deep respect for the artist.
This is one of the more convincing performances from Pavarotti acting-wise. He usually looked quite stilted and contrived on stage, but this was very evocative and each gesture has meaning.
@jmiller05 I agree, his acting was unusually excellent here. I wonder who directed this production (assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that that had anything to do with it.) If not, he was just inspired that day ;]

HE WILL NEVER BE REPLACED.....the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in my life, was lucciano's singing. R.I.P.

@ClanbRaH I remember seeing him when I was just nine years old at Giant Stadium in New Jersey. I will never ever forget the experience. He was just incredible.

@82maigret82 i agree. Great Pavarotti, but the best Cavaradossi is Domingo!

It wasnt just the power and quality of voice, it was the character it had. You can feel the emotion and pain, even without the video. This was one of the things that made him such a great singer

someone said : When Pavarotti sang, the angels listen! I think that is likely to be true, why else was he taken away from us ?

Even for someone like me who is not used to listen to opera... it is impossible to enclose oneself from the beauty of the lyrics, the music and the way it is delivered here. I am absolutely speechless... and remain in deep respect for the artist.

This is one of the more convincing performances from Pavarotti acting-wise. He usually looked quite stilted and contrived on stage, but this was very evocative and each gesture has meaning.
jmiller05 10 months ago
@jmiller05 I agree, his acting was unusually excellent here. I wonder who directed this production (assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that that had anything to do with it.) If not, he was just inspired that day ;]
