i am not liking my major(ChE) ...it is turning out to be all about food and organic chem ...i may have to switch to civil or ME but CAD is not for me

It really depends on the university.
For example, I go to a small university, and it contains a lot of biology, food processing, organic stuff....mainly because it's an agricultural/biological university and that's where its strengths are.
Try another Uni if you can.
