So far this program is kick ass.

The only thing that bums me out is if someone calls me while I was using Skyfire. If I answer the call when I hang up and go back to SkyFire, it always goes beck to the home page.

If I was in the middle of a forum or a video somewhere I then have to navigate back.

Does anyone know of a way for it to not do that or go back to where I was?

I've been using Windows Mobile now for a few weeks and it's much better than I ever would have imagined. I'd prefer it any day to the OS of the iPhone. Just one thing though, the iPhone does have the superior browser. But that's about it. Apart from that, it's more or less the underdog IMO. Just for those Apple fanboys.

This will work on the omnia. You need to download a program called WVGAFIX from xda developers site. Also check Modaco forums. It resizes the resolution which allows you to run skyfire.

So no privacy or end-to-end encryption achievable at all, until they address that. Since all the browser layout rendering and codec processing is happening remotely I'm not sure how they'll do that, unless they embed VPN functiionalty into the browser.

Fail... this isn't a Browser. It's a program that talks with a 3rd party server that is rendering the webpage and sending you pictures of your content. Notice they didn't ever type anything into the browser as you can't do it in the same way as a real browser.

They are touting flash playback like crazy because that's the only hangup that Safari on the iPhone has. Let me know when you guys actually make a real browser that can render webpages without the use of a 3rd party.

I got my beta invite the other day too. I think it's a very interesting product--but WM6 phones just don't have the horsepower to pull it off. The browser is kind of laggy and fiddly to use.

I only use it when I absolutely need the desktop experience on my phone....otherwise Opera Mini is far more convenient for casual browsing.

I'll definitely keep it installed as it is an excellent browser otherwise. I wish they could optimize it a bit and make it more finger friendly.

I went with Palm because I'm already familiar with the UI and I like the Graffiti 2 handwriting recognition. Skyfire is the only regret I've had so far. Other than that it does everything I need it to. I even have a decent SNES emulator (small potatoes, but nice nonetheless).

I think I would be perfectly happy with PocketPC, but I'm also perfectly happy with Palm. After trying out some PPCs, I honestly don't see one as being much better than another. I think they're both great.
