Did the Mac Classic need a boot disk? Or which was the first one that didn't need a boot disk?

@jebug29 It was the first that didn't need one. However, it wasn't really practical to use day-to-day since it couldn't be modified.

@TheSpike3000 Actually, the Macintosh SE needed a boot disk in the form of either a floppy disk or the internal (or external) hard disk. The Mac Classic needed no disk at all with the boot ROM.

@retromaccast Oh... see I have a newer Mac SE that has a hard drive. I didn't even think about the earlier one... :)

Could just quick-boot of rom and run apps from disk i guess, much quicker.
