LMAO! I love The Jack Benny Program. I wish someone would restore them (as best as possible since many were done live and only exist on kinescope) and put together a season by season dvd release. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Jack had a perfect sense of timing and his dry humor is a riot!
The late great Frank Nelson was a great part of the success of Jack Benny's radio & TV programs. What a talent! Love the way he'd stretch out his "YYYEEESSS";s when asked a question by Jack. A load of thanks for sharing this VERY funny clip with us! :)
From the February 6, 1955 episode (restaged from a 1953 radio script; Jack often repeated his best material, especially in filmed versions). And by the way, Mary was almost the same personality, on screen and off. Once, while they were at a party, Jack was somewhat silent while other guests were chatting away. Henry Fonda observed, "He never opens his mouth". Mary added, "Just start talking about Van & Schenck {a popular vaudeville team}, and he'll never stop!".
The part we did not see must have been that the reason he was up at 4:00 a.m. and was so sleepy is because a neighbor was playing the "Hank the All-Night Disc Jockey" program!
LOOOLLLZZZ soo much better then the stuff I'm supposed to be watching at 15 XD I luv Jack
