Had the pleasure of celebrating with Rick (Roberts) and his family for his 40th birthday. He was gracious enough to perform for me/us at The SeaWolf, in Homosassa, FL. He did all his hits and some new ones, UNplugged...just an acoustic guitar, a spotlight and that great voice of his. Miss the guy...one of a kind...................
this is a great song and a great band but this version is bad. it seems to be lacking something......i just can't put my finger on what it is though ???
I live in Miami, Florida near Gulfstream racecourse. Nine ten years ago they had concerts at week- ends. Bands like America, Gin Blossoms, Christopher Cross. One magical Saturday i saw Poco, Pure Prairie League, and Firefall. They each did about a forty minute set . Absolute bliss. They don' t have the concerts anymore, they wanted to go upmarket. What a shame!
@redskiesrules Well, let's see. Ever heard of a band called the Chordettes? Probably not, as good as they were. Why? Because you are too young to remember them. And that's (probably) why Michere11 hasn't heard of Firefall. Until now, that is.
Dude prior to seeing this video if someone had put a gun to my head and asked me what the name of this band was I would be dead. Although I do and always have liked this song
I will see fire fall and poco and ppl on apr 9 th in williamsport pa.community arts center,I'm counting the days, can't wait.Commity arts is the best place to hear any live band, the place is awesom for music,
This song reminds me of all the people that the evil governments of this world have murdered throughout history. The dawning of deaths has not yet ceased. Watch the documentary called 'Beyond Treason'
I saw Firefall be a support act for Little River Band in Australia and I was NO WAY!!! they are much better. I obviously liked them both, but thought Firefall could do their own concert, no worries. Hey! I got to see them live and have 2 LP's of theirs' so all good.
This song lifted my spirits, made me aware and affirmed my Faith at a critical time and I no longer take it for granted. How many songs have done that much for you?
Just remember.
Another Firefall gem of a song: "Someday Soon". (wink) You can't go wrong.
It would've been nice if the sound guy put the acoustic guitar in the mix. It sounded pretty empty without it. Nevertheless, great video. THE SEVENTIES WERE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this song came out before I was born but my dad sang it to me when we were having hard times and it made me cry because I was so moved. now i listen to it whenever i need inspiration!
I just had to post just to get this out there. My husband and I were recently married after meeting 20 years ago. The lyrics to "our" song (this one) were written down, framed and given to one another as a wedding gift. The interesting thing about this story is that neither of us knew the other was going to do the same thing. This song has more meaning to me than any other song in the world.
Live versions don't usually cut the mustard cause they change the tune a bit, maybe out of boredom?
rick roberts has the perfect voice for this style of music.never forget they came here to the norfolk va scope 78 0r 79 and got snowed in here, great band.
I remember seeing this band in 1978 with my high school girlfriend at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. They were amazing. Margaritas, wine, and breadsticks in the bar. Memories that last a lifetime. God bless you L.S.R. Mike C.
The drummer recorded our band play. Which was awesome. He's a really nice guy, and is a lot of fun to work with. Kinda funny, we have the same band set up as him :P (As in singer/guitar/bass/drums/sax)
The original drummer was Michael Clark who played with The Byrds and The Flying Burrito brothers. He died in 1993 from complications due to alcohol abuse.

Is it me or does the music from the 70's get better with each year we get older?
newarkcatholicfan 2 years ago 10
The 70s music isn't getting better. It just has less competition now. None of today's rock music has a lifespan of more than about a week.
