Rick Santorum is 100 percent wrong, Osama Bin Laden and al qaeda didn't attack the US because they hated there freedom, they attacked the US because the US pretends to be the arbiter between palestine and israel when in fact they represent the interest of the Israelis more than the Palestinians, that was the trigger that caused them to do this.
Ron Paul is right...are you all Americans going to seat there and watch if other country comes and tell you wtf to do? wouldn't you fight back? few Muslims bombed US and whole US military went in Afghanistan to find bin laden and his allies..they bombed afghan, killed tons of innocent afghan people...that would ultimately create hatred towards America and more terrorists...then started war on Iraq and finally after 10 years where did bin laden was found? IN PAKISTAN....
The commentator is so biased it's not even funny. Some "truths" are just accepted as they are sold to us from years, and here comes Ron Paul challenging them and he gets quickly dismissed by treating as a dangerous clown of sorts.
And what do democrats want to year? Aren't you guys confused too? Advocating for personal liberty and supporting Obama passing bills that restrict that?
Do americans understand why terrorist attack them? "Yes, its because they hate our lifestyle and liberty".. No, its because you are acting like douchebags in cultures you dont understand. 11th of september happened BECAUSE of what the U.s has done in foreign politics.. And just about all of Europe, Asia, Africa and the middle east knew that, and you didnt? Now however, youve made everything better for yourself after having spent some time in Iraq... Vote Ron Paul for our sake too!!!!
Why are you acting like his foreign policy stance is something he just decided on because Obama was elected? He's always had that stance, and is hardly the "embodiment of the current Republican party" you then make him out to be. If anything, Ron Paul is the opposite of today's Republicans.
well... i not american. But im pretty sure that no country would attack any country just because of its idealism. There is always a hidden reason, something like money land earth's resources or maybe even because of disrespect in diplomatic relationship. I don't know is it realy true what Ron Paul said but it kinda seems logical to me, well atleast more logical what Rick Santorum said.
The British pulled out of Palestine because they couldn't reach an acceptable agreement for both sides in the division of Palestine amongst the Palestinians and the Zionists. The fighting in the middle east and all Arab countries is about the occupation of Arab lands by non Arabs. This is the reason why Israel is fighting the Arab world today. This is not the fight of America. We need to get out of there. We would do the same thing is our country was being occupied by another countries army.
There is not one rock farmer in Afghanistan that even thought about America and it's freedoms and we are to blame for his having to clear his land and plant his crops to feed his family. This is a stupid argument. This is the same idiotic argument they gave us for the Cold War for 50 years. They hate bombs falling on them for reasons they don't understand. A soldier did a documentary (on You Tube) and he asked the Afghans why they thought the US was there and NO ONE knew!
@marcetclaude Cenk has never really made his stance on Israel quite clear. He's all topsy-turvy. That's one of my principle faults with The Young Turks.
@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 I agree. he doesn't express his opinion enough about israel even tho he stated numerous times that Israeli lobby has a major influence in american.
What kind of moron could boo Ron Paul based on what he said in this video? Rick Santorum spews out his generic "America is great" shit and the crowd loves it. wtf?!
Michael Shure, until you actually take the time to understand his positions fully, and maybe take some time to learn some basic philosophy, I don't think you should be criticizing his positions. You just look ignorant to the enlightened... but even worse... you're spreading dishonest information to those people who are about as informed as you are.
If the young turks is really about seeking the truth, you'll stop doing this.
I don't understand the young turks. I'm pretty sure you guys are not bought by special interests, but why do you guys attack ron paul so much? Ever consider that he might be right? You know, there's a lot of philosophy and thought put into his positions - unlike every other candidate.
The fact that he sticks to his positions for decades, despite all the criticisms he gets by the media and you guys, are you not even the least bit curious why he doesn't change his position? Maybe he's right.
What position on Israel does he have that is so offensive to the host? Is it because he believes that America shouldn't take a side in a very complex conflict? Right now, the US provides unconditional diplomatic, economic, and military support to the Israelis, who treat Palestinians like cattle as they are herded through Israeli checkpoints on a daily basis and implemented an illegal and devastating embargo on Gaza because Gazans elected a group that opposed the occupation. Cenk agrees!
I'm curious as to what this host(only know Cenk and Anna) thinks is 'wrong' or 'bad' or 'negative' about Ron Pauls position on Israel since he includes it with his list of negatives(ie the 'other things he says on things like healthcare, Israel..) etc. He is completely right about most of the things he says related to war. Surely you must see that by now. But hey, i don't know who funds TYT or if this guy is Jewish background, so yeah. Full disclosure please and please elaborate.. RON PAUL 2012!
Ron Paul.. has been absolutely right about this for YEARS but the media won't tell you that. They want to black that out. Well, Black THIS out. On October 19th be part of something huge
@dangelo003 no no need to hurt israel, The problem is just compounded because SOO many people just have interests in this area that they wont allow the parties to work things out on their on. In the end I dont care there are worse conflicts than this.
@gutzs Yeah. That's the reason why i've stopped watching this channel almost altogether(along with Cenk not hosting every show). But even Cenk is too Bipartisan and 'small minded'. Think on a Global Scale guys, because you guys have a GLOBAL AUDIENCE. Your main audience is probably not from the US or at least a significant number. I bet an even more significant number of your viewers are supporters of Ron Paul, even those who voted for Obama last time round. I bet they are thinking, NEVER AGAIN.
what a pointless video. the purpose of making this was to bash one side and spew rhetoric from the other. yes you agree with ron paul about foreign policy, but why won't you acknowledge that? liberals used to be libertarians until they got brainwashed with social marxism and all this social equality bs. it's all about limitef gov't so you can have your individual liberty.
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that will end the wars and bring home the troops, the ONLY candidate that will end the drug war and pardon all non-violent drug offenders, the ONLY candidate that would repeal the PATRIOT Act and all of the other Bush era monster legislation that Obama supports, the ONLY candidate that would try the Bush and Obama administrations for war crimes and he is the ONLY candidate that knew the financial crisis was coming. If you vote for Obama again, you're a dumbass!!!!!

Michael Sure can you please explain to me how "it is not everyone who is Islamic." Please read or watch anything by Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, or Sam Harris on Islam and tell me that terrorist acts have nothing to do Islam. Have you ever heard of Atheist, Buddist, or Jain suicide bombers; if so, please give examples. Explain to me how Saddam Hussein was in no way connected with Islamofascism groups. And explain to me how Iraq would have been better off without American intervention.
I don't know if ron paul is good or not, and frankly i don't care, i'm 18 and i live in the U.K, but mark my words i have a feeling you supporters will be voting for someone else after he's been in office, because you do it all the fucking time it's so funny think about it, there has only been one president that has been elected for 12 years and that was bloody ages ago.
You never learn do you? Ahhh FUCK IT you won't learn from what im saying anyway
Since when following what this country was founded on and how it got great become "crazy?" What's crazy is how we got away from that model and became a society of kids who still live at home, mom and dad take care of us because they enabled us our whole lives, so we never got out and worked, we know they always bail us out and stick up for us against bullies.
Yes, you start reading about Ron Paul and you don't like it because he tells the truth. We have to make our minds that nothing is for free and that if we want something we must go and get it ourselves, not ask go someone else.
@HectorElCapitan Well what experience does Ron Paul have? all he did was that he ran his own clinic without accepting money from the gov (medicare/medicaid) for 25 years, delivered over 4000 babies, has a medical degree from the duke school of medicine, and served in the u.s air force as a medic unit... What does he know about healthcare? (lots of sacarism intended.)
Is that why we have an unprecedented historical debt in the 'civilized world'?.
Besides what's so wrong with leaving the states handle the health care, if some want socialized healthcare, let them have it, if others want medical savings accounts (Ron Pauls position), go for it.
Who are we to impose what we 'want' on the vast majority of the population, completely destroying a state's right to chose their own health care system?.
santorum could not be more wrong. france, germany, japan, australia, sweden, spain, canada. all free countries similar to the united states. but al queda has much less interest in attacking them than us... american people are stupid and these politicians are malicious in mislead people.
Ron Paul is both right and wrong. Our entangleing alliances in foreign soil is stepping on toes. And I take jihad at face value. Just open a Qu'ran, and you will see the wicked intentions of Islamo-jihad-vermin. We need to kill these bastards and the GOP is too cowardly to say so.
We have every right to defend ourselves, but we need to be prudent in our foreign commitments.
He is so FUCKIN' RIGHT...here. But then on others things im like damn... no.... wrong. Can't support that! Kind of sucks. I would like to support him. Oh well

I agree with Ron Paul on almost everything, excluding religion and sexuality. He's still by far the best of a bad situation. Hmmm. Who am I going to vote for in 2011? Random Republican idiot 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? Obama, a "Democrat" who has proven to be nothing more than a Republican puppet? Fuck that. I'm voting Ron Paul.
@elusiveone2007 All mainstream republicans I know say the crash happened because fannie and freddie bought subprime mortages. All democrats say deregulation. All libertarians and ron paul supporters have the best conclusion, which says that the feds inflationary low interest rate monetary policy of the early 2000's creaed a false boom that lead to a bust
@jhk863 I've heard republicans say personally, it has happened because of too much regulation, taxes too high etc etc. Also fannie and freddie. What you seem to be missing is that all of them are right. You are wrong if you believe its JUST because of the FED. Its a giant mixture of interest rates at 0%, no regulation and the selling and buying of trillions of dollars in completely shit securities over decades etc. Just blaming the FED is only one part of our problem,
I appreciate your respectful response to my points. However, you still believe that corporations would like laisse-faire free reign anarcho-capitalism. The opposite is true. In all societies with true, ron paulian capitalism, corporations fail becuase of the excess of competition, domestic and foreign. Banks also fail becuase of competing currencies. If you truely hate corporations, you must also hate government.
@jhk863 What society has true ron paulian capitalism? In this economy today, a lot of corporations seem to be doing just fine without any real competition(insurance, medicine). Most of the horrible things corporations do is already legalized fraud. Imagine what they would do if they didn't have to follow any rules? I do hate the government to a degree, but like I said. It doesn't fix everything just making it smaller, without some kind of enforced regulation.
..Those weren't necessarily Tea People booing. I think those were the more mainstream Republicans who just wanted to hear some version of "America good, everybody else bad!" and Ron wouldn't give it to them.
@jhk863 "Obamacare" gives my the chance to have and keep Health Insurance. There are a lot of americans, like me, that CAN'T get insurance b\c of preexisting conditions.
-his entire life attacking corporatism (socialism for corporations and the rich) in the banking industry (he wants to end the fed, which gives banks free money through low interest rates) and in the army (he is always bashing the tax payer sucking military industrial complex). Also, if you wanttotalk about a corporate puppet, look at Obama. The stimulus packages were filled with subsidies and contracts for GE, cap and trade was written by goldman sachs,
@elusiveone2007 -which is not free market, but is also not regulation. You write""Do you really want an extremely small weak government and even fucking bigger corporations?"
Reality: This is the worst misconception ever. Big corporations LOVE big government. Their partners in crime. Big government passes regulations like tarriffs and licensing that block competition to big corporations. Big government also lather big business with subsidies, contracts, and bailouts. Ron Paul has spent-
@jhk863 The entire paragraph wasn't in reference to Ron Paul only, Other people in his party would say It was because of too much regulation, among other things. Thats what I was referring to. I'm aware of the whole "partner in crime" reality, but do you think Ron Paul would have any regulation on corporations? Wouldn't corporations like that the best? Free reign to truly do whatever they want? Besides all the other things u listed. Smaller government does not fix everything without regulation.
Progressives, you are retards. Ron Paul wants to end SS, Meicaid, and Medicare, but he has a snowballs chance in hell of getting his proposals on those entitlement programs past congress. However, Ron Paul could unite both far-right tea party freshman and far left progressives like Kucinich and Sanders in supporting a fed audit. Ron Paul could also end torture and stop the wars eithout going to congress. So if you want 4 more years of the 2 part dupoly of war, torture, andcorporatism, voteforobama
I'd like to say that I support Ron Paul but at the end we all know that the corporations (moneymakers) own both parties so don't expect any changes at all.
Santorum might well be right about the motives of some of the hard core ideologists in Al Qaeda, but ideologists never come in bulk. They feed on people that are desperate. Of course their recruitment camps will fill up when the US is making everybody their enemy.
Let me properly translate "American Exceptionalism" for you all: An invasive tyrannical empire that is immune to the world court. The world "police" who go around beating the crap out of the weak ones and extorting the rest. I suggest that Old Mix of Frothy Fecal Matter and Lube go read the book- Killing Hope: US Military and CIA interventions since WW2. Santorum, you're a fucking moron.
I haven't seen that much of Ron Paul (I've seen videos of him over the last few years, that's all). Ron Paul seems to hold his fair share of crazy typical "American" opinions, but he makes his position a lot clearer than the people competing with him, and it seems like he does consider public opinions and if he does well there might actually be good debates on those crazy ideas.
@Nashy119 Not forgetting that he says some sensible things too. It looks like a good chance to take, but imagine if it goes horribly wrong, not because of political decisions but because of an insane right wing "look what those liberal satanist communists did" movement. The USA dot would headbutt itself to death on the eastern wall of the political compass graph.
See, I think TYT is sophistic in a video on Ron Paul's healthcare stands (which they were), but then they go and win me over again with this video by launching truth nukes.
I wish they could just be more open minded, research the ethics, philosophy, and economics of our positions so we wouldn't agree only half the time...lol.
Most of where we disagree is based on statist "ethics" they hold onto, or statist economic fallacies they suffer under. At least they are truthful, even if half wrong.
People like Santorum because he gives them easy answers and boo Paul because he actually gives some nuance to the issue, the idea of american exceptionalism puts people off and Paul's smart enough to know the concept's flawed.
The body language Newt and Rick Santorum were giving off after Ron Paul correctly stated why we were attacked was just disgusting.
How can they really force themselves to believe we were attacked because "we're free" and, as Cenk would say, "We're number one!" ?
No, Ron Paul had it spot on.
The facts that we're "free" and are constantly boasting of our superiority over the world were just little reminders to Al Qaeda to keep them motivated.
Hey, I got news for all you liberals who think you're gonna 'save your benefits' and all your welfare bullshit if you vote democrat next year; guess what, it's not gonna happen. The money is GONE. All the lying two-faced politicians who say they're gonna take care of you are just bullshitting. So you might as well vote for the one honest man out of all of them, because either way your welfare system is gonna be history. At least he can start rebuilding the country legitimately.
It's pretty obvious that TYT is a liberal bias online news network, but I watch it sometimes to see peoples unbiased views down in the youtube comments.
@Vernonu9 This is an oversimplified analysis of a problem that is much deeper. One should examine why we have high healthcare costs in the first place. The answer is government interference. Massive inflation from the Fed, government health insurance programs that drive up prices since receivers of such programs aren't paying much out of their pockets (leading to health providers charging whatever costs they want), and special interests and licensing in the healthcare arena.
@Vernonu9 Your statement is the normal fallacious argument. If one doesn't support federal money going toward healthcare, he must be against healthcare! The free market is the only thing that can provide low prices and high quality. In their ignorance of economics, Democrats will continue to support policies that will do the exact opposite of their intended effects. As an additional note, the same special interests that drive the military are in the medical sector as well.
Afghanistan is not Al-Qaidas country, or the Talibans country, and neither is Pakistan. Afghanistan belongs to the Afghans, and Pakistan belong to the Pakis.
In theory, there was nothing wrong with the invasion, these people really did need to lose a horrible theocracy.
The only problem is that Americans are triggerhappy, so in practice it was an epic fail. In a theoretical world, though...
The only Republican ticket I would vote for is if it was Huntsman/Paul 2012. Huntsman seems alright and Paul is okay in certain issues. Other than that, no chance in hell I'd even consider the GOP for anything other than a good laugh.
That crowd just wanted to hear a one-dimensional explanation where the USA is all good and all Muslims are comic book bad guys who hate us for the sole reason that we are the good guys.
When Ron Paul dared to tell them that there are shades of gray involved and more complicated motives than you see in a children's game of cops and robbers, they got upset and started booing.
As children, that audience clearly prefered DC comics over Marvel.
@jimbrown257 A question that I couldn't get an answer to on his website: I'm glad Ron Paul would choose not to be brutal with terrorists, seek justice & not revenge regarding them. But I get a creeping feeling in his answers that he would APPEASE terrorists, the way Chamberlain appeased Hitler! Paul nevers says he'll appease them, but I never get a clear answer as to how he'll react to terrorists' demands. Is he going to tell them that attacking innocent people will not solve their grievances?
@jimbrown257 ...Is Paul going to give into their demands while punishing them? Because I see that as a VERY dangerous precedent, just as bad as being brutal with them!
"Is Paul going to give into their demands while punishing them?"
...But what exactly are their demands? One of the things I agree with Ron Paul about is his position that America should not impose itself on the rest of the world to the degree we do now. Think about how much American hate being imposed upon by the federal govt. Now imagine it wasn't even your government doing it. If the US quit meddling so much over there, it would demotivate a lot of potential terrorists.
@jimbrown257 You didn't answer my question. Would Paul give in to their violent demands? Would he appease them the way Chamberlain appeased Hitler? (BTW, the type of demands they have doesn't matter; appeasing terrorists, like appeasing schoolyard bullies, will just encourage more use & ownership of you by terrorist/bullies. Sure, their demands might be benevolent now- stop occupying us- but they'll soon get the idea that they can get their way by sheer violence & tyranny!)
I don't agree that it would be giving in to their demands if they merely want the same thing. If he were to not give in to their demands and not ease up on US imperialism, he would be essentially have to change his position just to spite the bad guys.
It's been a long time since a few (now all dead) guys attacked the US. We aren't fighting Al Queda any more; we're fighting the Taliban. Those are different groups. The military isn't even actually fighting terrorists.
I understand what you are saying about giving in to their demands, or appearing to do so. I just think that reamaining at war because it might appear a group of a few dozen guys here and there got what they wanted is a terrible reason. A military occupation that destroys entire towns is not the way to go after a small group. Smaller specail units should be used.
Also, I should qualify this with I am not a huge Ron Paul fan. I merely like some of the stuff he has to say.
You're too dumb and stupid.. Go stick your head back in your FIXED Noose Channel.. you're turning blue and have been declared brain dead..Or maybe you blame your dumbness on ZNN? No? How about MSNBC (More Shit News & Bull Crap)? Wait, you probably get your views of who you should vote for from ABC (Absolute Bull Crap).. Did I leave anybody out concerning how you've been dumbed down to stupid? Oh that's right, let's not forget about CBS (Complete Bull Shit)
@Back2WeThePeople someone sent me this link as a joke and i had to read the comments to see the kind of people would comment on this sillyness. i have to say i was shocked to see someone who apparently watches this nonsense attack someone and call them "dumb and stupid" lol. im gonna assume the irony will escape you lol. Oh, and im gonna again assume you fail to realize that people who are burdened by intelligence will find your ridiculous acronyms to be quite revealing lol
Here's why Ron Paul's popularity among We The People is exploding. It's also why the Corporate 'U.S.' 'News' Propaganda Media hate him and are intent on propping up their marionettes of choice - Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, and Michelle Bachmann..
Ron Paul's Foreign Policy:
/watch?v=XtQTTSmc-CU&feature=ytn%3Amptnews
Ron Paul in 2012 to get rid of ObamaCo, which has given complete impunity, continuation, and expansion of the BushCo Doctrine of 'Pre-emptive War'. ObamaCo = Truth-less 'Change'
I could be registered in ANY party, if I ran against Ron Paul, I'd be proud of my countries selections. And even if I won, I'd SO have him on my advisory board.
Is this seriously how the democrats get their information? Ron Paul has been consistent his entire public life. Yeah, let's look at the surge and how RP viewed McCain's and Bush's tactics... He voted against them genius. RP always votes the constitution and for you to try to compare him to Rick Santorum is just absurd.
You Young Turks need an education in liberty and free markets. Ron Pauls comments about healthcare and economics makes just as much sense as his foreign policy ideas.
@ItsMeDauntless y facepalm? hes right Ron Pauls comments on healthcare and economics make a WHOLE lot of sense y don't u want cheap healthcare freedom and a fat wallet?
I didn't know that the bigot Scrotum was running for "President." He talks about
about Freedom and Opportunity for everybody around the world. ASK him about Gays and marriage. Then watch his Freedom change. There are Plenty of his statements on the subject on You Tube.
How can he Produce Freedom around The World. When Gay Taxpayers in OUR OWN Country are denied Freedom to Marry. If it Religion bases. We were founded on the Separation of Church and State. We were here before any religion.
@Mr1958louief you obviously havnt read about ron paul at all. he disagrees with gay marriage, but he doesnt think the government has any right to define marriage. he wants gays to be able to marry, so long as they dont impose their views on everyone else, just like he wont impose his views on you.
@johnocc Trust me!! I have read All about most of those running for "President." So far not impressed enough to favor one, over the other. Except for the "Top Three" GOP's running. I laugh looking at there record. Compared to what they say.
@greatnewtaste there is no being correct or wrong. People always think what theyre doing is correct and use that justification to put us in the bad economic and political state we're in at this very moment.
Saying you agree or disagree is proper, saying something is incorrect is just plain ignorant,
Response to Healthcare, Isreal, and other issues the effect us everyday. His healthcare theology is simple. Open markets for competive alternative healthcare for best costs/ HSA (health saving acount) more available to people- non taxab and removing corporatism from insurance. Isreal is simple. Intervention should be passed through congress just like anyother country and not enter illegally. All other issues that effect us everyday is simple as well...freedom and liberty. Any questions?
@ufailpwn The free market doesn't naturally bring good healthcare to everyone, which is a basic thing a society should be able to supply its citizens with. Ron Paul is a fucking retard, and he'll get slaughtered in the election.
Hmmm, you see that is the exact nature of a free market.
Company's want to sell for profit and when they are put up against each other it creates a competitive market, lowest price/profit company will get most customers therefore maximize profits.
Now you relying on a Government to bring your 300 million+ citizens healthcare is irresponsible and it is how countries go broke.
@chessonmyshirt Sounds good in theory, but I think the USA has clearly shown it simply doesn't work. A company's profit goes up the less it has to pay its subscribers - it'll do anything and everything to move that cost on to you. Furthermore, no chance in hell someone who simply cannot afford healthcare will receive it. The civilized world cares for its citizens and thus provides healthcare. The countries with the best healthcare all have universal healthcare.
Countries with the best healthcare also don't have a international military complex, you have to look at America different to every other country. End all your international military expenditures and you could afford a great healthcare program - unfortunately I don't think any candidates are willing to do that except Ron Paul.
You HAVE to end all your international military expenditures before you can start anything else.
@chessonmyshirt Perhaps. I agree fully the military should be hacked down with an axe, but whether or not it's required for a universal healthcare programme isn't something I'm too sure about - the taxes in the USA are incredibly low.
The more I read about Ron Paul the more I support him. ...His idiology is revolutionary but his priciples are from the constitution and from our Forefathers. Basically, if you want your ass wiped by the government and told what to do then you cant change America. But if you want liberty and freedom then you CAN change America. RON PAUL 2012!!! ♥
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Just because Ron Paul makes sense on one topic certainly doesn't discount his lunacy regarding health care and just about everything else. I do not want to live in Ron Paul's America. At the end of the day, he is a Republican.
If Ron Paul is not president we will lose our rights, be sent off to pointless wars, the rich, corporations and greedy republicrats will takeover and we will all be fucked
Ron paul is right about israel!!

@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 than why Michael disagrees with him? I'm pretty sure Cenk agrees with Ron Paul's view on the subject.

Maybe he's right.
egervari 3 months ago
What position on Israel does he have that is so offensive to the host? Is it because he believes that America shouldn't take a side in a very complex conflict? Right now, the US provides unconditional diplomatic, economic, and military support to the Israelis, who treat Palestinians like cattle as they are herded through Israeli checkpoints on a daily basis and implemented an illegal and devastating embargo on Gaza because Gazans elected a group that opposed the occupation. Cenk agrees!

Imagine if America is weak and Russia is strong.
Russia comes along and organizes a military coup / assasination of the american leader.
Then installs a dictatorship in the US that it funds and arms.
Trains US secret police and gives it logistical support in squashing opposition.
Then builds military bases in America to allow it to target other countries in the hemisphere.
Then some american's fly planes into Russian skyscrapers.
And the Russian's say "American's hate us for our freedoms"

I'm curious as to what this host(only know Cenk and Anna) thinks is 'wrong' or 'bad' or 'negative' about Ron Pauls position on Israel since he includes it with his list of negatives(ie the 'other things he says on things like healthcare, Israel..) etc. He is completely right about most of the things he says related to war. Please read or watch anything by Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, or Sam Harris on Islam and tell me that terrorist acts have nothing to do Islam. Have you ever heard of Atheist, Buddist, or Jain suicide bombers; if so, please give examples. Explain to me how Saddam Hussein was in no way connected with Islamofascism groups. And explain to me how Iraq would have been better off without American intervention.

- For the rich to keep more money
- For the rich to get more tax payer money
- For the poor and middle class to pay more in taxes, and demand less in return
- For less regulation, oversight and accountability of the wealthy and their businesses
- For greater control and government invasiveness of everybody else.

@elusiveone2007 All mainstream republicans I know say the crash happened because fannie and freddie bought subprime mortages. All democrats say deregulation. All libertarians and ron paul supporters have the best conclusion, which says that the feds inflationary low interest rate monetary policy of the early 2000's creaed a false boom that lead to a bust
jhk863 5 months ago 20
@jhk863 I've heard republicans say personally, it has happened because of too much regulation, taxes too high etc etc. Also fannie and freddie. What you seem to be missing is that all of them are right. You are wrong if you believe its JUST because of the FED. Its a giant mixture of interest rates at 0%, no regulation and the selling and buying of trillions of dollars in completely shit securities over decades etc. Just blaming the FED is only one part of our problem,
elusiveone2007 5 months ago
@jhk863 minus taxes being too high, I don't believe that was a reason.

If you truely hate corporations, you must also hate government.
jhk863 5 months ago
@jhk863 What society has true ron paulian capitalism? In this economy today, a lot of corporations seem to be doing just fine without any real competition(insurance, medicine). Most of the horrible things corporations do is already legalized fraud. Imagine what they would do if they didn't have to follow any rules? I do hate the government to a degree, but like I said. It doesn't fix everything just making it smaller, without some kind of enforced regulation.

@elusiveone2007 -which is not free market, but is also not regulation. You write""Do you really want an extremely small weak government and even fucking bigger corporations?"

Big government passes regulations like tarriffs and licensing that block competition to big corporations. Big government also lather big business with subsidies, contracts, and bailouts. Ron Paul has spent-
jhk863 5 months ago
@jhk863 The entire paragraph wasn't in reference to Ron Paul only, Other people in his party would say It was because of too much regulation, among other things. Thats what I was referring to. I'm aware of the whole "partner in crime" reality, but do you think Ron Paul would have any regulation on corporations? Wouldn't corporations like that the best? Free reign to truly do whatever they want? Besides all the other things u listed. Smaller government does not fix everything without regulation.
elusiveone2007 5 months ago
@elusiveone2007 You write: "Ron Paul is right about a good amount of things, but do you fools really want no medicare, medicaid, social security?!"
Reality: Ron Paul would have 0 chance of getting any proposals he has on those programs through congress. You also write:
"do you really think the recession happened because of too much regulation?"
Ron Paul believes that the recession happened not because of regulation, but the federal reserves 0 percent inflationary interest rates.
jhk863 5 months ago
Progressives, you are retards. Ron Paul wants to end SS, Meicaid, and Medicare, but he has a snowballs chance in hell of getting his proposals on those entitlement programs past congress. Vernonu9 5 months ago
RKAddict101 5 months ago
@Vernonu9 Your statement is the normal fallacious argument. If one doesn't support federal money going toward healthcare, he must be against healthcare! The free market is the only thing that can provide low prices and high quality. In their ignorance of economics, Democrats will continue to support policies that will do the exact opposite of their intended effects. As an additional note, the same special interests that drive the military are in the medical sector as well.

Is he going to tell them that attacking innocent people will not solve their grievances?
cleanhomer 5 months ago
@jimbrown257 ...Is Paul going to give into their demands while punishing them? Because I see that as a VERY dangerous precedent, just as bad as being brutal with them!
cleanhomer 5 months ago
@cleanhomer
If the US quit meddling so much over there, it would demotivate a lot of potential terrorists.
jimbrown257 5 months ago
@jimbrown257 You didn't answer my question. Would Paul give in to their violent demands? Would he appease them the way Chamberlain appeased Hitler? (BTW, the type of demands they have doesn't matter; appeasing terrorists, like appeasing schoolyard bullies, will just encourage more use & ownership of you by terrorist/bullies. Sure, their demands might be benevolent now- stop occupying us- but they'll soon get the idea that they can get their way by sheer violence & tyranny!)
cleanhomer 5 months ago
@cleanhomer
The military isn't even actually fighting terrorists.
jimbrown257 5 months ago
@cleanhomer
Cont:

Ron Paul in 2012 to get rid of ObamaCo, which has given complete impunity, continuation, and expansion of the BushCo Doctrine of 'Pre-emptive War'. ObamaCo = Truth-less 'Change'

Ron Paul is the most intellectually honest candidate on either side, this is news?

I could be registered in ANY party, if I ran against Ron Paul, I'd be proud of my countries selections. And even if I won, I'd SO have him on my advisory board.

Is this seriously how the democrats get their information? Ron Paul has been consistent his entire public life. Yeah, let's look at the surge and how RP viewed McCain's and Bush's tactics... He voted against them genius. RP always votes the constitution and for you to try to compare him to Rick Santorum is just absurd.

The only politician running for president I like from both major parties is Ron Paul.

You Young Turks need an education in liberty and free markets. Ron Pauls comments about healthcare and economics makes just as much sense as his foreign policy ideas.

THIS is why TYT is awesome - michael, ben and cenk equally
reporting on issues rather than candidates
just because you like ron paul doesn't mean everything he says is right - which is what a lot of his supporters don't get
ron paul is correct on this issue, on the other video on healthcare he is wrong
greatnewtaste 5 months ago 3

Any questions?
ufailpwn 5 months ago 26
@ufailpwn The free market doesn't naturally bring good healthcare to everyone, which is a basic thing a society should be able to supply its citizens with. Ron Paul is a fucking retard, and he'll get slaughtered in the election.
AsifIcarebear3 5 months ago
@AsifIcarebear3
Hmmm, you see that is the exact nature of a free market.
Company's want to sell for profit and when they are put up against each other it creates a competitive market, lowest price/profit company will get most customers therefore maximize profits.
Now you relying on a Government to bring your 300 million+ citizens healthcare is irresponsible and it is how countries go broke.
chessonmyshirt 5 months ago
@chessonmyshirt Sounds good in theory, but I think the USA has clearly shown it simply doesn't work. A company's profit goes up the less it has to pay its subscribers - it'll do anything and everything to move that cost on to you. Furthermore, no chance in hell someone who simply cannot afford healthcare will receive it. The civilized world cares for its citizens and thus provides healthcare. The countries with the best healthcare all have universal healthcare.
AsifIcarebear3 5 months ago
@AsifIcarebear3
Countries with the best healthcare also don't have a international military complex, you have to look at America different to every other country. End all your international military expenditures and you could afford a great healthcare program - unfortunately I don't think any candidates are willing to do that except Ron Paul.
You HAVE to end all your international military expenditures before you can start anything else.
chessonmyshirt 5 months ago
@chessonmyshirt Perhaps. I agree fully the military should be hacked down with an axe, but whether or not it's required for a universal healthcare programme isn't something I'm too sure about - the taxes in the USA are incredibly low.
AsifIcarebear3 5 months ago
First he needs to win the primary.
That means you need to register republican to vote for him.
