I face a horrible dilemma for my wedding this year. My mother (who hasn’t long to live) says the one thing that would make her happy would to be for my uncle to perform his ‘funny routine’, like he did for her wedding 50 years ago.
This is a tawdry, degrading ‘blackface’ medley- like a low-rent Al Jolson wailing out of tune. I have loads of black/mixed race guests coming, & it’s going to be the most embarrassing moment of my life…
Execellent play but the background noise makes it hard to concentrate might i suggest reposting it after you record it somewhere a little quieter you'll probably get more hits.
.. the hazards of playing piano for people who can never truly appreciate it!! I've been in your place many times, but I used to find the background noise allowed me to 'forget' the audience were there (..that they mattered --harsh!!).. and really concentrate on connecting with the music. I think you've done a fab job, thanks for uploading!
Wow, I can't believe noone clapped at the end!! *applauds* If I were there, I'd be paying no attention to the party and just listening to the lovely music :D
A lot of my videos have the same background noise because there's people talking and eating in the same room as me and I am there for their pleasure. Sometimes people are quiet and listen, but not always...
Thanks for your kind comments, I do especially love playing this piece! (there are a few mistakes - but I hope it still shows) xx
is this the same piece played in nodame cantabile, where nodame joined the competitoin? i cant seem to find the part nodame played. is it the same piece?
hi all, i have a doubt. Can anybody say me, who are called mozarts ? I am confused by this , i exactly dont know who are "mozarts ".. Does mozart mean a music composer ? Please tell me. Thank you.
Sorry I'm wondering if you could help me. This is a pretty stupid question but I want to know the name of a mozart piece for piano. All I know is that it's in a minor key and is at a fast tempo. It has a major shift for the second part of the melody. Sorry for being ignorant but I'd really like to know the name of the piece.
Sorry, there is only one A minor sonata which is the one this person is playing now. The only other sonata in minor key is K.457, in C minor (which follows after a Fantasy as well, K475). The one with the Alla turca as the last movement of the sonata is in A major, k331. Cheers.
Er, even space alien knows how to listen to music...
By the way, I didnt say that this guy have no sense of internal rhythm. I think you have read too much into my comments. Fluctuating tempo doesnt mean no sense of internal rhythm, it can be caused by nerves. Thanks. Cheers. =)
Well, sorry for the angry outburst, but I still don't see how anyone could criticize this performance. He does not sound rushed or "nervous", he sounds perfectly leisurely, the way Mozart should be. If you think this should be any different, that's a matter of personal taste. It is quite clear that this player has complete control in creating the sound he wants to make.
Well, if you are in my shoes, having learnt this piece and hearing many versions of this, you will notice that it is not perfect yet. In fact, there is no such thing as a 'flawless performance' unless you are like some professional pianist who aims to do things perfectly. Yes, i agree that this guy has complete control of his touch, there are some good things in this performance. Maybe it's interpretation wise?
I don't want to be mean but it is very romantic, mozart must be played more classic, however I am very onorthodox with those things, anyhow, very nice preformance !!!!!
Beautiful song. Beautifully played. Anyone know where I can get a simple, free download of this song? I don't care who's playing it.

It's fine, Mozart was a late Classical. A little rubato isn't inappropriate.

1) nice touch... good articulation.
2) However, take note of your tempo. It's fluctuating.
3) Some wrong notes played.
overmars1603 3 years ago
This is such a ridiculous comment it's almost like a joke.
Yeah sure... this performance would benefit from strict adherence to a metronome, right? The guy must have no sense of internal rhythm, right?
Are you a space alien or something? This performance is flawless.

i agree 100%, i think one must necesarily take in most count the composer's intention as well as the context in which the piece was written
lookingforboludeces 3 years ago 5
I don't get this "mozart MUST be played more classic" like it's a requirement to play a song exactly as someone else did.
You can play it any way you like.
