gotta love the caprice. picked up my 89 caprice classic last week. 50k miles, white with a royal blue vinyl top, perfect shape, gotta love a car driven to church on sundays by a little old lady ;)

Thats exactly what I did when I lost a hub cap on my '88 Caprice, going 90 down a country road. "Damn I lost one.... Ah fuck it..... there all coming off now!" lol. I found a website that sells new OEM hubcaps but they want 40 bucks for just one.

@TexMexGirl1 Yes it's very comfortable and it's a very solid car. Miles per gallon isn't the best, but that isn't a concern of mine until gas gets to 5.00 a gallon again then I slow down a bit! Thanks for commenting. -Paul

what kinda speakers do you have up front, and in the rear? in my cadillac I have Pioneer TS-G4642R 2-way 4 x 6-in in the front, and Freeway Speakers 6 x 9-in. 300watt 4 way speakers in the back. I have a old 1980's radio in it now, the the original but a better one, since the old one was kinda dead the amp in the radio was dyeing, but this one is better, but dose not take full advantage of my speakers, the rear 300watt speakers should have allot more power and bass then I am getting.

It's not a Ford chime at all. It came out of a Buick.

But the diesel would have to be in pretty good shape, though, as the Olds diesel was not known for reliability.

dude i'd love to see your sub setup! didn't really know you had one! i dont care if the trunks a mess cuz mine is too :-). i'm running the same amp in my caprice also! btw, i'd be careful how loud you turn it up especially at idle..i hooked up a volt meter and found it fluctuating a lot under only moderate volume since the alternators in these cars are so small. at least mine is (78amps), yours might be around 90 amps but i'm interested in knowing, it should say on a sticker somewhere on the alt

That sounds like my chimer now. I gotta get a tach soon too, where do you have it hooked on the distributor? i know theres connections there for one

its easier to understand if you take the cap off and look on the back where i believe there are two plugs, one say "tach" and i cant remember what the other says but you only need the "tach" one of course. they plug in from the bottom so it might be a little difficult to get at. Idk if this differs much on other tachs but its the green wire that hooks up here..then all you gutta do next is hook up a + feed to an empty spot on the fuse box, and then one for the backlight, and a ground i believe.
