This basically means that xbox 360 will have more defined colors because it has a better graphics card, however the ps3 will be able to render more pixels making for more crisp images because it has more memory.
@ChushiSushi Nonsense. First, the storage medium has nothing to do with the rendering process. What defines the resolution the games will be at (ammount of pixels, if you prefer) is the GPU only.
Besides, both consoles have the same ammount of memory, 512 MB.

i'd have to say the ps3 is a little more sharper than the 360 as far as graphics goes. Free multiplayer and blu-ray integration tops the 360. However, 360 has a pretty good LIVE experience, but isn't free.. Also, I've had my PS2 for 8+ years and it hasn't broken down, where as my xbox broke down in a year - and 360 GPU broke down on me 1.5 years later. I like microsoft, but, they continue to release products that reflect poor quality - make a fucking console that can last a while!!

@heavyspy13 Actually the xbox 360 has better contrast for imports most of the time. This is what I hate so much about multiplatform games for the ps3. Since the ps3 has a different working CPU/GPU it has MORE potential than an xbox360 but usually game makers don't utilize the ps3's cpu because it takes more money. I personally prefer the ps3. perfect examples of games that have utilized this are : MGS4, Uncharted, God of war, The Last Guardian, Heavy Rain, ect.

@21manonego btw the xbox gpu is not 6 times more but only 1.5 more whic is not a lot, as the ps3 gpu has 24 shader pipelines for graphics and the xbox had 36, but then the remaning graphics calculations is put on the cell aka the ps3 cpu which has about 36 pipelines in its self so to be honest the ps3 is a more powerful system, but if the xbox makes you happy play it but do not write bull shit.

The PS3 is affected by the limitations of the 360, disc space on 360 is just 8GB. Fortunately, PS3 exclusives prove how much better graphics the PS3 can get that the 360 will never.

I wouldn't say the ps3 has better graphics. They are just just less dark and lacking as much color contrast. Both consoles are great though, it just comes down to what games you prefer. I had a ps3 in the past and I sold it and got an xbox because my friends have them and their is way more games and the online is maintained. Ps3 is laggy on most cod servers just because their is poor player matchmaking in some games I connect to a North Anmerican host everytime n xbox, never on ps3. both r good.
They have to make the multiplatform games to the weak power of the 360 so they will be the same game...........don't believe me look at the PS3 exlusives, Killzone, Uncharted, God of war, MGS4, and so on and on and on and on and on.............there isn't any 360 game that can even come close to it's graphics, it's a proven fact that PS3 is just a better, more powerful console than anything else out.

Okay listen. PS3 disc space is 55 GB. 360 HD DVD disc space is 8GB.
More disk space = better graphics, bigger online capcity and more potential for good games.
By law, multiplatform games have to be the same, for example GTA IV was scaled down from 32 players online to 16 players online to fit on the 360.
So because of 360, every multiplatform game was scaled down too fit on it/ruined this gaming generation.
I own both, but these are the facts, also PS3 is getting ME2 in january. PS3>360

Go play uncharted 2 xbox fanboys. I used to be a huge xbox fanboy until I saw how supperior the ps3 is I sold the 360 and got the ps3 I always thought 360 had better graphics but I was so wrong. So don't judge something befor you play it which is what xbox fanboys do all the time. Not ps3 fans because I don't know a single person who has never played the 360.

@heavyspy13 Actually the xbox 360 has better contrast for imports most of the time. This is what I hate so much about multiplatform games for the ps3. Since the ps3 has a different working CPU/GPU it has MORE potential than an xbox360 but usually game makers don't utilize the ps3's cpu because it takes more money. I personally prefer the ps3. perfect examples of games that have utilized this are : MGS4, Uncharted, God of war, The Last Guardian, Heavy Rain, ect.

Secondly, I have played both Ps3 and 360, and the ps3 has way better graphics, just better to look at, even the 360 fanboys at my school agree. Thirdly,how do FIFA 2011, MW2, GT4 and AC2 prove that 360 is better, these games are multi-platform

@21manonego btw the xbox gpu is not 6 times more but only 1.5 more whic is not a lot, as the ps3 gpu has 24 shader pipelines for graphics and the xbox had 36, but then the remaning graphics calculations is put on the cell aka the ps3 cpu which has about 36 pipelines in its self so to be honest the ps3 is a more powerful system, but if the xbox makes you happy play it but do not write bull shit.

I wouldn't say the ps3 has better graphics. They are just just less dark and lacking as much color contrast. Both consoles are great though, it just comes down to what games you prefer. I had a ps3 in the past and I sold it and got an xbox because my friends have them and their is way more games and the online is maintained. Ps3 is laggy on most cod servers just because their is poor player matchmaking in some games I connect to a North Anmerican host everytime n xbox, never on ps3. both r good.

U realise that its a xbox port to the Ps3, so thats why its less. Ps3 has the ability to play xbox ports, which is every multiconsole game. WTF u should compare exclusives, then see who has better graphics. I don't see Ps3 ports to the 360, hell even FF13 had to have another DEV team to make the 360 version and that was sub hd with DVD quality FMW. Ps3 was full HD with 1080p FMV. Ps3 has WAY better graphics when comparing exclusives. just looks at uncharted 2 and killzone 2.
