Good for you, keep it original if you 4.5 it it's no longer a 3litre and is non original. Mine has been in my family for 70yrs, my uncle bought it in 1937 for £5 the body had been smashed. My dad had it in 1949 and took his test in it. I drove it first when 14yrs old 52 yrs ago. Look utube "Kirsty Bowie" see our day at Brooklands. She did 250miles there and back and did 24 driving tests without missing a beat. I restored it completely and know every nut and bolt in it. Love yours nice original
@hamishian It's got a lovely note from the exhaust - would ours be like that without the Brooklands silencer? I might hack it off when you're not looking Popsy!! I agree, keep it original as there are so many 'bitsa's' and modified ones about...and join BDC when you can. Our Brooklands day on YouTube was arranged by them. It was our first BDC event and they are lovely people, they made us very welcome.
Hello, It's a matching numbers original car, still 3 litre. It would be a shame to change it. Even if I could find the parts I couldn't afford the price they would be.
Thanks for the comment. My bank account is still recovering from buying the car. As soon as I can afford it I'll join the club . This weekend the car is on display at a salon near Toulouse.
Have I got a deal for you! I`ve been a BDC member for almost forty years, the last thirty of them sans Bentley. I`d be happy to swop my membership for your 3 litre...........
(I shan`t hold my breath...)
Join the Club when you can. They are a terrific bunch of folks who DRIVE their cars, unlike some other clubs. Few "trailer queens" in the BDC!

That thing sounds alive! What do you feed it? Definitely a thoroughbred.
